I created a test personal book and deleted it from my personal book page under tools, but it still shows up in my library?

How can I delete it?

Thanks.

An unofficial method which should work:

Delete the actual compiled book file (it'll be one of the .LBSPBB files in ...\Logos4\Data\{random}\ResourceManager\Resources) and restart Logos.

You can tell which filename to delete by looking at the "Support Info" at the bottom of the Info panel in that resource when it's open in Logos:

I'm not sure what the "official" method is, but you could try dragging the resource from your Library into the "Hidden Resources" section in Program Settings and restart Logos. That should probably work too.

You could hide it by dragging it into Hidden Resources (which is in Program Settings.) When you restart Logos it should be gone from your library.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see it still appear in the Library list or in the count. Plus, doing it this way you will likely still see it in your Personal Book list, and may not be able to get rid of that entry now.

I posted this before, the recommended way to delete is

The way to reliably delete a Personal Book from your library is a 2 step process. There may be other ways, but I found this to be 100% reliable.

Step 1 - go into Tools/Personal Books, right click on the book you want to delete, and click Delete.

Step 2 - be sure Library Pane is not open (it may give some temporary false resource counts otherwise), and type Rebuild Personal Book Index in the command box at the top and hit Enter. Wait until the blue Logos indexing icon is gone from the system tray, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to complete as most people have under 200 personal books.

Step 3 - restart Logos.

Then Open up the Library pane, personal book is gone, resource count is properly updated!

You can delete multiple personal books in step one, one at a time, then proceed to step two to rebuild the index if you need to.

He said he had already deleted it from his Personal Books tool, or I would not have recommended this method.

I also should have included a caveat: Messing around with the file structure can be very dangerous, so do at your own risk!

I didn't know about the Rebuild Personal Book Index command. That's helpful. But hmm, one would think Logos should automatically trigger a rebuild of the personal book index whenever you delete a personal book. This seems to be an oversight on Logos's part. Users having to go through all these contortions seems nutty. On the one hand, deleting a PB is probably a somewhat rare occurrence, but on the other hand it seems likely that people will want to try to mess around with a sample one before trying some real ones, and then will want to delete their test PB. On the other other hand, I think Logos considers that not very many users use PB's anyway, so they aren't likely to invest a lot of time in making the feature better...
