I'm doing a clause search in Lexham Hebrew Bible. This search doesn't find anything:

subject:God verb:to create

I based my expectations of how it should work on models I've seen here in the forums, such as:

subject:Jesus verb:to weep (in Lexham Greek-English Interlinear NT), which works fine.

Everyone always seems to include "to" with the infinitive when doing clause searches, so I thought that's how it was supposed to be done.

But apparently in the Hebrew Bible, you can't include the "to" in the infinitive. I changed my search to:

subject:God verb:create

And voila, it worked.

What's the deal?

and there are a number of different "create" verbs to add to the confusion

Test::

subject:God verb:to create works in the NT but not in the OT [Matt 19:4]

subject:God verb:create works in the OT but not in the NT [Gen 1:1]

'looks like' if it is not on the list it will not work

Rosie, as David has indicated, it seems there is a different search protocol in the OT for the Clause Search.

I highlighted this here, among other concerns with the Clause Search.
