I just upgraded my Logos 4 to your new Logos 5.

One of the great challenges one faces when purchasing new software is learning the program and attempting to digest large amounts of information. This includes hardware, as well.

I am persuaded that every producer of software should make a series of comprehensive video tutorials broken up into convenient subject categories. These should be simple and as clear as possible. An example of what I am speaking about may be found at lynda.com, an online software video school.

I am aware that your company does some of this, but it is not comprehensive and is lacking in many respects. If it is necessary to charge a nominal amount to cover the production cost of these videos, I think most people would be willing to spend the extra money as long as the cost was reasonable. There is the Norris Proctor  tutorial program, but it is expensive and requires travel for most of us, which only adds to the already significant cost.

It is my hope that Logos Bible Software seriously considers my thoughts in this matter. I am persuaded this type of thing is sorely needed across the industry.

Another alternative to Morris Proctor is John Fallahe. His website is www.learnlogos.com. He has a comprehensive set of training videos and 3x a month does a training webinar (watch live for free). The videos are very reasonably priced for the breadth of information you get.

There is also a great free series of training videos created by Logos MVP Mark Barnes: http://www.logosbiblesoftwaretraining.com

The first 16 videos were created for Logos 4, but they all apply to Logos 5 as well. Mark will continue to work on more new training videos in his spare time, and these will be done in Logos 5, but for now he's done a lengthy video introducing the new features in Logos 5 which is great.

There are more tutorial videos by other Logos users here: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Video_Tutorials (Logos 4 and up) and http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_5_Video_Tutorials (Logos 5 new stuff).

Peace and Joy to Kristine and/or Robert!             This is your first post!  Welcome to the Logos Forums where volunteers from around the world support and encourage and inform Logos Bible Software users 24 hours a day!                     *smile*

We're glad when Logos Bible Software users post to help and encourage and inform one another.  However, lately we've been plagued by quite a bit of spam!

I just took a peek at http://www.lynda.com/ ............              Probably a very nice website indeed!         Of what real use would it do me as a Logos Bible Software user.              Actually, if you want to communicate directly with the people at Logos, they have an address at their website.

I guess, unfortunately, that I am of a very suspicious nature; however, could you post again, please, to convince me that your original post is not spam?  *smile*

If you are just another one of us ordinary Logos Software user types, well then, I sincerely apologise for raising this issue and for my insidious and nasty suspicions.    If that is indeed the case, I'm sure I will truly "repent me"!            *smile*     So, please write us a very human post!

Philippians 4:  4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........
