BUG: Print/Export in Schreiner's "Interpreting the Pauline Epistles"
Logos 5.0a SR-3 on Windows 7 x64
I'm trying to print Schreiner's chapter on diagramming (chapter 5). I've encountered two problems:
1) The less severe bug happens when I include the section called "Final Note on Diagramming." The last two larger diagrams do not show up on the print/export screen. They are omitted if I export to XPS, and they show up as very small images if I export to Word. Trying to increase the size of those images in Word simply messes up the overall formatting. It's not clear why those diagrams, though they are large, should be a problem since they don't span pages.
2) The more significant bug happens when I include the section called "Specific Constructions," by itself or with the chapter intro. Logos makes the print/export length be 100 pages (should be <= 16). What happens in this scenario is that the last page of the print/export is repeated until the 100 page limit is it. Adding the next section ("Final Note...") brings the print/export length back to the correct length.
It would be great if this could be corrected before Tue Jan 1, as that's when I head to my exegesis class, hoping to have a printout of these diagramming helps with me. It would also be great if Logos added the second edition of this resource.
Thanks,
Donnie

I can't reproduce the emphasized behavior (see image). It also shows up for me as an XPS document. The resolution of the image is not great, however. This not being our resource, I doubt there is much we can do about that. Before I actually tried it I was able to paste it into Paint. You could do that and print it from there if you're in a hurry. How are you going through the process of moving to the print/export screen?

When I navigate to the print/export panel and check all the boxes for chapter 5 (including the sub-boxes) and the amount of pages I see in the print/export preview screen is 20, not 100. Can you take a screenshot of there being 100 pages in your Print/export screen?

In terms of seeing what I'm seeing with missing diagrams, I think you're looking at the wrong diagrams. The ones that are missing in print/export are quite large. Hopefully these screenshots capture my point.
This shows the diagrams in the resource itself. Note pg 94.
This shows the missing diagrams in print/export. Note pg 94.
This shows the "100 pages" error. Note on the right that only 2 items are selected from the chapter. The error also occurs if just "Specific Constructions" is checked.
Hope this helps,
Donnie

Thanks for the clarifying screens. I'm kind of able to reproduce the first issue, but the second. When I select only "Final Note on Diagramming" which has the longer diagram on it, I only get showing up the very end of page 91, and pages 92 and 93. Two blank pages come after (which I'm thinking should be the rest of the diagram.
I'm still not able to reproduce the "100 pages in the preview panel" behavior when I select the chapter header, and sections Specific "Constructions" and "Final Note on Diagramming." What font are you using?

So I wen to mess with my font settings and when I placed it on Default (I had it on GentiumAlt before for some reason) and I was able to reproduce your 100 page issue. I'll try and figure out what is doing it and let you know after i send a case in about it.

Final update until someone from QA comes over to tell you it is fixed somewhere else, or to get more info. I think the issue is specifically with that section five. Something in the book there (probably the diagrams) is messing with the page count some how because if you check all except that section it gives the proper amount of pages. .

Looks like we have two things going on here actually.
To get around the 1 of 100 pages issue in print preview, for now turn off "show page numbers" as a visual filter.
The issue regarding the diagrams not all showing is separate. I'll be putting in a separate case for that.

Thanks for all the follow-up.
