Hi
L4 has this separation in the Forums
personally I like this idea.
Your thoughts?
With substantial feature parity, Logos 5 tends to have same issues on Mac and PC. Caveat: currently aware of four feature parity issues in Logos 5.0b Beta 1 on OS X 10.8.2 compared to Windows 7.
As Logos 4 Mac improved over time, the volume of threads reduced plus the number of questions answered increased by Logos 4 users on Windows.
If have a platform specific issue, can include MAC or PC in thread title.

I see your points. With similarity of features (parity), it makes some sense to "get the word out" to those on both platforms when an issue is raised. A single forum accomplishes that. On the other hand, from what I've seen during the last few weeks, lots of folks initiate threads and it ends up being the third, fourth, or fifth post before the issue of PC or Mac comes up. In other words, I see a lot of "wheel spinning" taking place.
I guess the issue comes down to Logos deciding whether they want to promote wheel-spinning unity or separated immediate traction.
Questions such as the recent one on Bible Sense Lexicon coding errors or two Bible Word Studies on the same Greek word etc. transcend the platform divide. The question becomes: with time will the majority of questions be platform independent or dependent?
perhaps this is a good solution. provided it is enforced via a form before posting - becuase alot of people wouldn't otherwise do this.
also a filter should be available for those who contribute to helping people. Because:
1. the forum gets one page thick every day. (and everyone misses out who posts at the less busy times - I live in Australia so my posts sometimes don't get much of a go before they are one page deep.
2. some people might not use a MAC (in fact most still dont and aren't interested in doing so).
thanks for your time
