I am running Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude with plenty of power.  It worked perfectly for the first few weeks after I downloaded it, but 2 days ago it started to hang when I tried to open it.

The program opens and the ribbon across the top of the page populates, but then the program freezes.

I spent an hour on the phone with Logos support on Friday.  We hung up after he tried to download and install Microsoft NET framework.  I am not sure the download he used would even work for Windows 7.

I uninstalled and reinstalled LOGOS (including downloading more than 9 gigs of resources again).  But I am getting the same result.

Would reapply appreciate any ideas.

Can you turn on logging, and then post your log?

Have you tried logging in with the CTRL key pressed, then ticking "Use blank layout"? I'm not expert, but it's possible it's your home page or workspace that's causing the problem.

Hi Aaron, your log file doesn't contain an error. Could you try running (and crashing) L4 again and see if the logs has an error?

Here it is again/

Also, if I hold down control and click on the icon (like the other poster recommended), nothing happens.  Is there another trick to opening to a blank screen?

Thanks for looking!  This is very frustrating.

We do need to try and get to the log-in screen so you can load to a blank page. It's crashing after the login point so there's so reason I can see why we can't get to that log-in screen. Can you try again? Hold down CTRL, then load Logos. Keep CTRL held down until you see the login screen. Then you can left go of CTRL tick the Blank layout box and try and login.

You may find it best to close other applications before you start. Sometimes the login box can appear behind other Windows, making you think nothing has happened.

Here is the log file when I hold down the control button (very short).  It never gets to the home page -- there is just the logo on my desktop like it is trying to open, but nothing else happens.

Thanks for your persistence. I'm afraid I can be of no more help however. I'm stumped. The log is showing that it freezes or crashes immediately before that login prompt. I could guess a few things, but they'd be wild guesses. I think you'd be better speaking to support. Sorry.

The log file isn't recording any specific error, so unfortunately I'm unable to pinpoint a specific cause of the problem. Do you remember if you installed any Windows Updates, service packs, other programs, or any other upgrades immediately before Logos 4 stopped working?
