Today (2/1/13) I have been unable to launch Logos software. It was working yesterday, so I'm not sure what happened. I tried to launch while holding the CTRL button, but it also failed to launch the program.  Attached are the log files from this attempt.  Any help is greatly appreciated![

On first blush, you have an outdated version of Windows 7 (6.1.7600), you should update to Windows 7 SP-1 (6.1.7601).

I'm not sure that's causing your problem, but it would be good to rule out that possibility.

I don't recognize the error code (Error ID: 9397), and a search through the forums didn't pop this one up. The message "Object reference not set to an instance of object" is typically some kind of database error, though I'm not sure which one, nor how to fix it. So let's start with the Win7 update and see where that gets us. You may need to contact customer support, if that doesn't fix it.

L4 was trying to show the Startup Window (because you pressed CTRL) when it crashed. I'd like you to repair Logos from Control Panel > Programs & Features --> Right click Logos Bible Software 4 and choose Repair.

We'll need logs to be able to help you:

Enable logging by carefully following all the instructions in the link below:
http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Then run Logos and see if you can repeat the issue that caused the crash. Make sure to post all the log and txt files here for review. Here are the Wiki instructions for how to upload logs.

The crash appears to be caused by WPF when it's trying to load a typeface. It may help to rebuild WPF's font cache. To do that, please follow the instructions here: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Windows_Is_Hanging_Right_After_Startup

I also have been having Logos 4 crash on start up recently. This is on a netbook, so maybe more RAM is needed, but it used to work. Here are some log files: 7534.Logos4.zip 8880.Logos4Crash.zip 6523.Logos4Error.zip

Thanks for any assistance you can give.

It is good and bad to see that others are having the same problems that I am having. It has worked fine for the past two years, but in the past week, it keeps creashings, it will not let me log on. I talked with customer services, we spent about a hour on the phone, but was not able to get it fixed. Then yesterday it loaded up fine. But today- it started doing it again. This is frustrating.....

Your log file shows that you're running version 4.5b of Logos. Please try updating to the latest version (4.6a) which should solve the problem: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe

Posting some log files (see http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging) will help us identify the problem.

I just checked my email and there was a post about this problem. I am a novice when it comes to programming, etc. But the WPF Presentation Font Cache solution did the trick. It is now working. Look it up in Wiki>FAQ> What a relief!

When I try to run Logos 4 setup, it hangs as it is trying to load a file. Here is what I get:

After nothing happens, when I cancel, I get:

Windows 8.1 64-bit, Core i5-3330, 8GB RAM

This seems like a failure to contact our download server. It could be caused by a misconfigured proxy server, or by a problem with BITS. It would probably be best to contact our Technical Support department directly (and reference this thread).
