I noticed this in CP today, from the Loeb Classical Library. Could this be a sign that Logos is beginning to roll out that excellent series? That would be awesome!

Very interesting. The current price is low, but there are a lot of volumes in the entire Library (500+), so even at $5-$6 a volume it will be quite costly to bid on all of them.

It would be great to have these on CP

This is great. I wonder if this is the direction they should go with the Migne sets as well--make them individual titles.
Some of the Loeb volumes are in the public domain, others are under copyright. If we ever did get a license to the volumes under copyright, you'd probably see them as a normal prepub rather than a community pricing offer.

That would in all likelihood cost us at least $1000/set, instead of $250/set. In the unlikely case all got published, that is.
What would really happen would be that the 10-20 most popular volumes got published fairly soon, another 20-50 got published some years from now, and the rest never saw the light of the day.
What they need to do is a concentrated effort to reach out to universities, colleges, seminaries, papal institutes, religious orders, and organizations of various kinds. I'm thinking they're probably planning something like that, but I don't think they will implement it until both Verbum and these CP's have matured a bit more.

Thought this was a helpful list from the loeb site (http://www.hup.harvard.edu/collection.php?cpk=1031)

I agree; it's just that if nothing changes, then probably none of them will see the light of day. At least bringing them out individually would bring some into production.

On another note, what's the difference between the Eusebius' Ecclesiastical History on CP and the one in the Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers we have in Silver Package and above?
DAL
If anyone is interested, this site has links for the PD volumes. Quality varies... Greek is particularly problematic.

I've place a bid because it has the Greek text.
I can't understand why people are bidding on Livy though, when Perseus has both the Greek and English.

Esp. since the Perseus texts are often Loeb based.

Thanks Dean, I guess 6 bucks won't hurt my wallet, though I don't think I really need the Greek text on it, but then again, you never know.
oops, Livy is Latin. I knew that
Yes, we have begun the process of making all of the public domain titles in the Loeb Classical Library available on community pricing. We'll be listing them in small to medium sized collections to keep them from being cost-prohibitive, and to encourage you to help get them into production as soon as possible!
To see all of the Loeb Classical Library collections currently on community pricing, just search for "Loeb" on Logos.com. It'll return the full list. We'll be posting the remaining collections over the next few months; there's quite a few to come.
Also, I've explained the differences between the Logos editions of the Perseus Classics Collection and the Loeb Classical Library in a different thread. You can read my comments here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/70545/490971.aspx#490971
