Hi all and thank you for your time.
Greetings from South Africa in the Name of Jesus Christ.
It's been a couple of months now that I wanted to write this but didn't know to which forum it belongs to. So I decided to post it here.
Sometimes I battle with a question I have in preparation of a sermon or Bible study and had the need to post here in a forum and just ask maybe something like: "The fact that Jesus' crucifixion was the last and complete offer for sin, does it mean that God does not punish sin/transgressions anymore? Does God still punish today? (Many people see a flat tire or something bad that had happened as punishment from God for doing something wrong.) And if so, how do we understand the meaning of Jesus' death and resurrection?" This was, for instance, a question I was asking myself and I think, to be honest, still open for an answer.
My need it NOT to get into heated debate with all kinds of arguments. Sometimes, it is just good to hear someone else's opinion.
Is there some place here where we can think together on some topics? Like for now, I have this coming Wednesday morning our weekly prayer meeting/bible study for men. Without getting to deep into the theology of the meaning of the crucifixion of Jesus, I want to get into: What does it mean for us as men, husbands workers in 2013 that Jesus was crucified?
Thank you and God bless. PS: sorry for my lengthy question.
