There's more info at http://www.learnlogos.com/

The only demo video is so basic (I think it's lesson 3) it's very hard to see if it will be worthwhile.

that's weird...it's John Fallahee's site; and it bills him as a "former logos employee"...

I wonder what Logos thinks about this considering the following line:

Why attend an expensive seminar, or watch video lectures? Go Interactive!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the link.  It's a great approach-interactive, for hands on learning.  I am sure they are not geared for power users of L4 but if I take into consideration the length of time of each:

Then, I think it is well worth it, particularly for newbies and  people who don't want to wait for Morris Proctor's cd's or can't afford his manuals.  I ordered it right away.

Sounds like it could be helpful to some people.

You can get the same effect as an "interactive video" by watching a free "lecture style" video (which he sort of pooh-poohs on his site), having Logos running at the same time, and pausing the video every once in a while to switch over to Logos and try something out. Better to try things out with your own library than in the sample one that is provided in the interactive training video.

Rosie,

That is a good idea but I tried it and it is cumbersome to go back and forth.  Even with the Camp Logos dvd's I purchased for version 3, because you have to run them on your computer and not on your dvd player through your tv monitor, it doesn't work.

It's easy to go back and forth using Alt+Tab.

I think the real appeal of this is to get it all in a consistent format and in one place. I don't think you are going to see anything there that you wont find in the forums and in the training videos here, but you won't have to spend a great deal of time searching on it. Frankly, I'd pay the 19.95 just for training in the advanced topic section he lists. As for what Logos thinks about him? I let them work that out between them and not speculate.

Even though the vids might be basic; to give John his props...he's good at making these types of videos....I'm sure that his earlier V3 ones are littered all over Logos' site.

What I did with the old Proctor videos was to play them on a laptop while working on the desktop. That worked really well.

Jerry,

I have not been able to sit in a chair very long yet so I have to use just my laptop.

I went to the demo page. I am not sure I like the way the video stops all the time for you to do what he says to do. You would still have to alt-tab back and forth between the program and the video, right?

Jerry, I just went to the demo site as well. In answer to your question about having to alt-tab back and forth, NO. He actually builds all the interaction into the video. The video is designed to wait for your input and then goes on to the next step in the video. It is definitely "hands-on" training. Since that is the ONLY demo on his site, it would be hard to give a true evaluation of the rest of the videos, but I can see some potential in this product.

Taken from John's site:

There is mention of some MP videos 'Free w/ purchase of Logos Collection'. I do not remember hearing of these before. I upgraded rather than buying new, but L4 is still 'new' to me, as it is to all of us. Does anybody know much about them? and how upgraders might get to see them?

Martin,

If you go here:  http://www.logos.com/products/details/5595 you will find the list.  And if you go to the Logos training video page here  http://www.logos.com/videos they are the first under Feature.  Free to watch.  At least, I think they are the same.  Angel

Right, and they do give you an idea of how useful the Morris Proctor Seminar's might be to you.

I went to one in Chicago once and ended up helping Morris by assisting other users rather than listening.  He's truly a classy guy.
