I wonder if http://www.logos.com/products/search?unlocked=no&Product+Type=Add-on+Products&start=0&sort=bestselling&pageSize=60 page ever get updated ..
Even with March Madness last time, I didn't really see D.A. Carson books get up in top 60.
.
Anyone ever wonder?
I think it's meant to be best-selling of all time, not best sellers of the current week or month.
I rarely pay any attention to any "best seller" designations on anything anyway. When a store clerk tries to sell me on a product by saying it's their "best selling" one, I usually ignore him and ask about the features and make up my own mind. I like to think I have more discerning taste than the masses, and if everyone likes it, I probably won't. Also some "best sellers" are selected by the publisher to become best sellers before they even hit the market and they are pushed as "best sellers" and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy because so many people like to buy books simply because they are perceived to be popular. It's a brilliant marketing gimmick, but it doesn't work on me.
sounds very complicated just to say "best-selling"..
Sure.. you're probably don't really care what majority people buy or read..
But, like Amazon & other book stores.. they always updated their list hourly/weekly/monthly .. And why NOT Logos? It would definitely drive up the sale...
It seems to me, Logos doesn't really care what they put on their website & the "maintenance crew" neglected the webpage & slow.
Other examples:
1. if you own the book from a collection the check out button should be grayed out. (doesn't always happen)
2. the dynamic pricing on collections need updates.
3. check-out/cart prices vs advertise prices are different, etc
Just Iike people check the best-selling lists on every categories they care on Amazon, I do too check Logos best-selling page..
I just hope they could update it at least once a week or so..
I hope they don't update the best-sellers or even add this weeks best sellers as it would tempt me to buy more resources for my library.
We can't have that.
I got so tired of seeing the Gospel Coalition booklets listed as the top best sellers on Vyrso forever, but it seems Logos has realized that was kind of annoying, because now they have -description:"Gospel Coalition" (meaning weed out all the G C books) built in when you click on the "see all >>" button next to "Our Bestsellers" on the Vyrso Home page.
Maybe that's part of why I've never taken Bestsellers seriously on the Logos websites. A better solution would be if they updated those stats regularly so the lists would be more meaningful.

lol
I've always assumed it was updated constantly. It just doesn't change that much from one week to another.
You can see a major change from last autumn, though: the first page used to be full with L4 base packages. Now that they're gone, and the L5 ones haven't yet had time to sell that much, the base packages are much further down the list.
Correct. It is constantly up to date and reflects real data. It sorts all SKUs by the total number of units sold over the life of the product. And it's to be expected that it wouldn't change very often. Products on "best" lists inherently become better, since they are more likely to be purchased than other products.
I had our team spec out a bestselling page a while back. It will let you see bestselling by week, month, year, and all time. This will provide much greater value than only showing all-time bestselling.
I like this.
any idea when the best selling page will get updated into hour/day/month?
It will be a completely separate page. Unfortunately, I don't have a timeframe for this particular feature. Our development roadmap is pretty packed for the remainder of 2013, and I'm not sure if we can squeeze this one in or not. I'll see what we can do.
thanks, looking forward to it!
Personally, I can think of several dozen improvements far more important than this one.
