Keylinks in DBL Hebrew and DBL Greek

They do work (honest!), though I'll admit that it can be confusing. It's because your DBL Greek is the highest prioritised resource for Strongs and TDNT, so when you click on a Strongs or TDNT link DBL just opens itself. You'll need to:

Move TDNT and Strong's Dictionary above DBL.
OR limit DBL so that it doesn't function for Strongs/TDNT (Set Prioritization Limits - see picture below). This would be my preferred option.

On second thought, I DO have a problem - even with the first alternative you suggested. I have TDNT and Enhanced Strong's Lexicon above DBL Greek but I can't seem to get the Strong's references.

Also, I am not sure if I understand the second option - though I did attempt to get the picture you printed.

Each Greek dictionary can respond to a number of different types of links:

Greek lemmas
Strong's numbers
TDNT references
DBL references

Not all resources can respond to each type of link. To find out what links a resource supports, click the information icon (an 'i' in a circle) of any open resource and look at the 'indexes' section. TDNT, for example, supports Strongs, TDNT and Greek. DBL supports DBL, Goodrick/Kohlenberger, Strongs, TDNT and Greek.

Whenever you click on a link, Logos looks down the priority list and opens the first resource that (a) supports that link, and (b) has an entry that matches what you clicked on.

So, in order to get what you want, leave your prioritisation set up as it was before you had this problem. (That is, remove the DBL entries you added earlier.) Then drag TDNT into the list as your first lexicon. Click on "Set prioritisation limits", and choose TDNT in the "type" field. That now means TDNT will be prioritised above DBL, but only for links of the type TDNT. Then drag ESL (Enhanced Strong's Lexicon) above DBL Greek, and set prioritisation limits type to Greek Strongs Numbers.

TDNT will now open for all TDNT links. ESL will open for all Strongs numbers, and everything else will work as it did before. So instead of stopping DBL picking up links to TDNT and Strongs (which was option 2 before), we've prioritised other resources ahead of DBL, but only for particular reference types. (This is a third way of achieving the same thing, and perhaps a bit easier to visualise.)

(Incidentally newer Logos resources don't have all these different links, because Logos 4 doesn't really need them. They date from a time when there were only a handful of resources, and ideally each resource would like to every other resource.)

When I did what you suggested the links for TDNT worked fine but the links for Strongs are giving me Vocabulary of the Greek Testament [Moulton-Milligan]. Apparently MM has a higher priority than Enhanced Strongs [or something].

I don't have that resource, so:

If you want ESL to have a greater priority than MM for all keyword types (Strongs and lemmas), then just prioritise ESL above MM.
If you only want ESL to be a priority for Strongs, prioritise ESL above MM and then set the prioritisation limits of ESL to "Strongs Greek".

If this doesn't work, check MM isn't higher up your prioritisation list, remembering it's possible to list resources more than once. If all else fails, upload a screen short of your prioritisation list.

I have attached a screen shot of my present priorities 0755.snaphot of priorities.doc I can access everything from DBL Greek EXCEPT TDNT for some reason. [I have moved TDNT to positions before and after DBL Greek but it does not seem to make any difference.] Thanks for your help.

So a small number of resources (including ESL) use multiple numbering systems. This approach has rightly been abandoned, and as far as I know it was only ever done for a very small number numbering systems, of which TDNTA wasn't one.

I can't say they fixed it. But when I checked:

- A Strongs resource needs to be prioritized (or some other Strongs-indexed resource). If not, DBL is self-prioritized (as Mark discusses above). In other words, nothing happens. This is especially true for hebrew/aramaic, where there's few Strongs-indexed lexicons (mainly TWOT for hebrew; nothing? for aramaic).

- I got the same results, for all 3 of the DBL resources.

Exactly what are your steps?

It seems you don't understand. There's nothing to fix, because nothing is broken. The BDL lexicons are indexed by Strongs as well as several other numbering systems. The primary number shown is of course their own numbering system, but you can position them to a Strongs number or priorize them to be your go-to resource for Strongs as well.

I had a Strong's resource open. I press left or right arrow to change the resource. If it comes to the DBL it doesn't match the entry.

Normally this is something Logos can do great. Even scrolling together, if tied.

So my wish, if I come from a Strong's tagged resource the next should open on the same Strong's too.

Same if I come from a Lexicon without numbering system the next should be opened on the same entry.
