on 11/27/2013 I opened my Logos app on iPad and was pleased to see all the interface improvements along with tools and note-taking possibilities.

Thank you, programmers and Logos.

The new update is awesome.

But what are the new note taking possibilities you refer about?

I concur with the others, the app has better navigation and is a nice improvement.

Just one suggestion.  I greatly preferred to previous icon, with the texturing and depth.   The new one looks like a cross between a ghost and a gummy bear "V".  But I suppose this is the trend with iOS 7.  Regardless, great work, and now to check out Verbum Plus....

The new upgrade is definitely an improvement. One area I would suggest you spend time on next is the way the text itself is displayed. The Kindle app still is more pleasant to read from IMO. Specifically, the Sepia background needs to be more tan and the sepia text needs to be more brown. In addition, the font weight seems to be a little more heavy in the Kindle which I find a little easier to read. Finally I like to read with my Kindle in landscape mode, with two columns of text. I have found that after a certain point as I make the font bigger the Logos app forces the text into one column. I would like it to be two columns no matter how big of a font I use.

You do know that you can manually set it to two columns, right?

Yes, but after a certain point as you make the font larger it goes to single column.

I just noticed a nice feature that was previously missing.  When downloading a resource to the iPad, so long as the Info window is open, the original info icon on the background becomes a circular progress marker, almost like a dynamically updating pie chart.   Very nice touch.

Mine has always acted this way. I have set with two columns and for a few pages it will stay that way, then I turn a page and it changes to a single column.

This typically, in my experience, happens when there is a large table or some other graphic coming up in the text. And it then reverts to multi-column mode a few pages afterwards.

Are you seeing something different?

Can you give some screen shots?

My opinion is exactly the opposite of Keith's. I think the current Logos Sepia theme has the perfect shade, and I find the Kindle's to be too tan/brown - so much so that I never use it. It would be nice to have more configurable font style and weight options.

I guess I have a dissenting opinion--I am absolutely mortified to see one app after another--and now Logos--transform itself into a clone of that horrid, "It feels like Jony Ive is jamming an ice pick into my eyes," iOS 7 interface.  One of the (many!) problems that I have is the far-too extensive use of all WHITE, which is not a "design."  After reading this thread, I see that some users of the Logos app are able to read with a Sepia background.  I have looked and looked on the app but cannot find how to set it to anything but WHITE.  How are you adjusting this?  Thanks.

Via the "view settings."

Ah, thanks!  I should have caught that.  I just kept going to Tools --> Settings and could not find it.

The iOS app is an example of Logos doing Apple hardware the right way. The Logos app has been very good for the last few versions.

I was a bit skittish when I saw the new update would be fairly substantial because I was quite pleased with the previous version. I was worried the changes would be a step back. I was glad to find out I was wrong. The changes are all quite good and add to the experience, taking nothing away from the previous version.
