Not Really a Bug

This doesn't really count as a bug, but it's a design decision that really bugs (horrible pun, I know) me.

When doing extended reading I like to use 1 column mode so I can turn pages with my directional keys. When in this mode, there are two arrows pointing horizontally in the bottom right of the pane. That makes sense when applied to the convention of turning pages in a book; however, the left and right arrows do not turn the pages! While the arrow points left/right, the up/down keys change pages.

It should be consistent in both places (or just enable left/right and up/down keys to change pages). Not a big thing, but I do consistently hit the left/right arrows because of it.

Jeremy,

Left and Right switch to parallel resources, so we can't repurpose those keys. But you can always use Space and Shift-Space to go forward/backward one page in either resource viewing mode. Hope that helps.

True, but you could change the left/right arrow icons in the resource to up/down arrows instead. That would serve the same purpose: to make the visual arrows consistent with the keys. Plus it would be more consistent with what actually happens on the screen.

Not that this would be anywhere near the top of my list of priorities, but consistency and intuitiveness are always nice, and having a right-arrow icon that's invoked by the down-arrow key isn't exactly consistent or intuitive.

Personally would like column arrows (Up and Down) that correspond with textual direction:

For mock up illustration, choose purple so could contrast with existing gray arrows.

Yeah, this is where I am. I didn't think of the parallel resource button because I just noticed it in a resource that had no parallels, but if the arrows switched, that would probably be the best solution. Pretty low on the list of priorities, but it's something that would be a nice touch.
