Thought this might help someone.  I have not been able to use the read aloud function for the past 4 months.  Tech Support has worked on my problem, with no success as well as my computer tech support.  Long story short, I purchased a voice and it works.  Just wanted to spread the word.

I'm glad that it is working for you now. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "I purchased a voice". Could you please explain a bit more what tech support did to solve your problem? Thanks.

There are two kinds of "read aloud." One "read aloud" is an audio book synced to the resource (see ESV). The other is a computer generated voice, which is dependent upon your OS. In some cases, you can "buy" a voice. That isn't related to Logos.
