I usually get 200 or more emails in the afternoon.  Now I am down to about 25 for the entire day.

I would consider that a huge blessing!

Can't believe they're only accepting questions via email (which can be slow) and not Twitter with a hashtag (more up-to-the-minute and easy for all to follow).

I didn't get a reminder email for this either. It really seems like these kinds of emails are a solved problem in the rest of the internet world, but Logos continues to struggle on this front.

100% agree. #LogosWebinar - great way to get questions easier and perhaps be discovered by its use on Twitter. That won't happen with email.

You don't need the email. As tab posted above, just go to www.logos.com/webinar - it's live right now.

I watched about the first 20 minutes of it. Very well done. This will be available on YouTube.com/LogosBibleSoftware afterwards anyway, so you can see the part you missed.

I didn't need the email - I saw how to join. I was only pointing out that there are many people who didn't get the email that Logos said they would send.

The topics in the webinar are very, very basic. I wonder why this webinar does not cover the more advanced features, as the basic features (and some advanced) are already covered in the excellent video series of Mark Barnes.

Seems to me that Logos needs to refer more to these videos. And perhaps support Mark in making more of them, as Mark is a SUPERUSER of Logos.

But, making webinars is a great idea.

Well, I did learn one thing...about how to prioritize a whole set rather than just the single volume--thanks to whoever asked the question, since they weren't going to discuss that otherwise.

I guess it is inevitable that the first of these webinars is a PreK primer. I don't use L5 much, since I am permanently wed to L3, but with the above exception, I knew pretty much everything covered in this. Doing this as a webinar is nifty, but they just need to crank these how-to vids out so that they are available to those needing the info.

Actually, it would probably be more useful to people if rather than having 1 hour videos, they did 1-2 minute videos that cover specific tasks.

I caught the last few minutes of the webinar, hence I'm disqualified from commenting on either the content or quality of it.  Since, however, neither the lack of qualifications nor credentials hinder most of us from rendering an opinion....  I'll note that an online meeting provider (MeetingBurner.com for example)  provide superior interactivity between the presenter and participants.  In fact, it could be argued that emailing questions robs the participants of the benefits of immediacy inherent in the webinar format.  Logos' good friend, John Fallahee at learnlogos.com, offers free weekly webinars (in addition to his excellent instructional videos for a fee) that are fabulous; and, I might add, precisely the kind of format that Logos desperately needs to include with our expensive library.  Many of us (most of us?) have long offered advice to include some kind of cohesive nose-to-tail instruction with the software without having to pay for Mo Proctor's expensive (and, admittedly, worth every penny) two day seminars.  The business model is raged if not outright broken.  So!  All that to say this:  Thanks for beginning the process, but why reinvent the wheel?  Mo, John, Mark, et al; are already doing it.... buy them, fund them, include them... make us happy.

We'd love to do a wide variety of webinars covering everything from introductory basics to advanced power-use functions. What would you like us to cover next?

I have yet to watch the video, but am getting ready to now. That said, would you include the glories of tagging in a webinar? MIght improve its popularity, and bring its development priority up a touch. Love to see the changes being made, but would like to see a few more things added. Helping people see the utility, and tremendous value of tagging helps us all I think.

Ray, I would like to see a step by step guide to doing a syntax search, (going from the known to the unknown so to speak). I would include the uses of the various visual guides that are available and how to set up the search parameters from those visual guides. I seem to be able to run the examples that are given in the wiki videos, but when I venture out on my own, I come up with less than satisfactory results.

I think this is what Logos should do every month or ..... to support users and make them get the best out of the Software. Thanks

Personally John Fallahee has helped me a lot. Check: www.learnlogos.com

I'd love to see one on Note taking in Logos: the basics (which I know) but also more advanced stuff, best practices, how to organize them in a smart way, how to find stuff in them once you've made them, etc. That's probably the area I'm taking the least advantage of in Logos right now that I would like to be doing more with. Most of my experience is using the feature when it was quite buggy in beta, and I've got tons of junk note files lying around and really no clear direction forward as to how to make better use of the feature.

Yes

I have been a Logos user for several years. I enjoyed today's webinar. A lot of it I already knew, but I found several tips that were helpful that I didn't know about.

Thanks.

This would be great. I know the basics but I seldom use notes now but knowing some good strategies probably would help a lot.

I use notes extensively based on advice gleaned on this forum.  However, I don't have a firm grasp of when to employ clippings rather than notes.  My notes usage case has evolved into a "clippings" use case since I tend to copy the target text directly into the note.  My desire was to have readable notes files.  Since I can also add my comments to clippings entries the two paradigms blend.  Taking notes from my iPad has broken the tie since I can't get to my clippings from there, (At least I wasn't able to last time I looked).
