I asked this question directly through email and on twitter, but have yet to get a response. So I thought I would ask here.

What's the cheapest way to get a reverse interlinear with Logos 5? If someone downloads the free platform and then purchases the ESV or NASB will it come with the reverse interlinear (I am asking this for a friend, I have Silver)?

Thanks!

You can't purchase the reverse interlinear datasets individually, so the "cheapest" way is to get the Logos 4 Crossgrade if you don't plan to get a Logos 5 base package. Then you buy the individual bible resource(s) you want to use (abt $10 - $35).

Thanks Dave. What if the user doesn't own Logos 4? Or any version of Logos yet? The cross-grade wouldn't work then right?
So to get reverse interlinears, he would have to buy a package?

Logos Bible resources => https://www.logos.com/products/search?Resource+Type=Bibles&start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15

Lexham English Bible => https://www.logos.com/product/6162/lexham-english-bible

Noticed Authorized Bible => https://www.logos.com/product/16102/the-cambridge-paragraph-bible-of-the-authorized-english-version

is included in four Starter packages:

=> https://www.logos.com/product/37762/reformed-starter

Thankful for Logos payment plan that has no interest.  Caveat: each month has $ 5 processing fee.

The reverse interlinear bible is a combination of dataset (from Crossgrade or a package) and a bible resource.

So you can get the L4 Crossgrade with the required reverse interlinear datasets as opposed to buying a more expensive package. And you can buy any of the actual bible resources (KJV, ESV, etc) from the Product web page (read the notes on the L4 Crossgrade web page).

Nathan ... I'm the summation of the above answers.

I have the free Logos5.  And the crossgrade for Logos4 for my reverse interlinears which I never use (Logos4 crossgrade is just a label; it works in Logos5, etc).  And then I have a whole slew of books (about 3,000 which on the forum is kindergarten). No package.

I also have some books from Accordance and I had to get their package ... which I never downloaded; no need for it.  Logos, with the crossgrades (there's a Logos5 one too for some of the new tools), has a pretty low entry fee.

I am confused. I thought you had 39 books after 5 years. What is the 3,000 books?

    I bought a Libby yesterday but no download option on the invoice. And yes, many in the list are Libby supported. But the Libby script doesn't work anyway, so I limit Logos-format-only to absolutely needed. I think I'm up to 39 books after 5 years. I'll probably end up with more Logos PBs than books. The 3.000 are the "Libby supported" ones.

Correct.

The 39 (later corrected to 40), was the financial writeoff when I uninstall Logos in general, or Logos goes bust, or Logos sells off to Zondervan.

The 3000 (more precisely 3,541, not including hidden) include approximately 2000 Libby resources, Perseus (free), and 40 Logos-only.

Now, to avoid further confusion, yes, this is a banal accounting, primarily from humor.  In between my expectation the internet will become far worse before it becomes better, and small companies having a high failure rate (e.g. Logos), Libby appears to be a good long-term bank account.

The very cheapest way to get the New Testament Reverse Interlinear is: Reverse Interlinear of RSV New Testament $69.95
You can also get English-Greek Reverse Interlinear of the NRSV Apocryphal Texts separately for $44.95.
It's a total of $114.90, same as the L4 Minimal Crossgrade. But the L4 Minimal Crossgrade doesn't contain a Reverse Interlinear of the Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha.

I think these versions are superiour to versions such as the 2011 ESV and 1995 NASU.
