Bruce Dunning:
I'm surprised that more people have not tried this out.

L6 has a higher priority right now.

Plus i announced it under the General forum, which isn't viewed as much by the average user.

Updated the CIV website tab Adding to Clipboard with info on Method 3 copying Logos images to clipboard for viewing in CIV.

Also added a chart which shows the image resolution difference when adding an image to the clipboard using the 3 different methods.

Thanks for your work on this Steve. I'm currently trying to update my version but am having an issue.

When I choose this to get version 1.0.1.5 ....

I get this screen (version 1.0.0.13)....

Is that the wrong link or am I doing wrong?

Hi Bruce,

Nice to hear from you again

Bruce Dunning:
When I choose this to get version 1.0.1.5 ....

The announcement that i just made above is only to alert users that the webpage has been updated telling them about Method #3 for copying Logos to the clipboard. So ver 1.01.5 is still the current version.

Bruce Dunning:
I get this screen (version 1.0.0.13)....

The Install webpage is generated by my Microsoft Visual Basic development software. What you are seeing is not the version number, but the build number which is different. Build # 1.0.0.13 is what was used when i published CIV version 1.0.1.5. I know it is confusing but i would rather not fiddle with VB's html file to post the version number instead of the build number.

Does this make sense to you? i know that my description is technical, but i don't know how to explain it without technical terms.

EDIT: when i announce an update to programs (tools), i usually use large text with a green background. This way you can tell an update to the program is available.

EDIT2: below are images of my development s/w. This might help clear up the technical mumbo-jumbo. (you can click to enlarge the images)

Thanks for bringing up this point, i am sure it has been confusing to others here in the forum.
Hope you are finding CIV useful!

New Update to CIV is available    (ver 1.0.1.7)
[CIV is an abbreviation for the program: Clipboard Image Viewer]

Changed menu item View Image Details to not disturb viewing of image. See the release notes.

Thanks, Steve! I'm only now just discovering this.

You do such great tools to aid in our use of Logos. Thanks for offering them for no charge. I'm sure many of us would gladly donate a couple of dollars or so to help support your continued work on these if you put a PayPal Donate button on your website.

Hi Rosie,

You are most welcome!

Thank you for the kind words. You have a generous heart. i am sure others would have a generous heart as well, but it would not feel right for me to accept donations. The tools that i have given are my gifts to my brothers and sisters in Christ. i only hope that they find them useful.

Thanks again Rosie!!

Rosie Perera:
Thanks, Steve! I'm only now just discovering this.

I was just bemoaning the fact that there was no Pan and Zoom feature with Logos maps when I came across Rosie's post yesterday. I couldn't download the program until today because my program was indexing all of yesterday with purchases and an update, I don't know why it took so long, but that another story for another day. Thank you steve for this tool it is just what the Dr ordered, great! Smile

Using CIV inside Logos

you can add CIV for each computer you use into Favorites and then access CIV after you have added a map to your clipboard. This will open your map in CIV from inside of Logos.

Creating a Favorite for CIV

  1. Create a folder in Favorites to hold your CIV links

  2. Drag the CIV desktop shortcut and drop it into your new folder

  3. Rename the new favorite to reflect the computer where you just dragged the shortcut from

(click the image below to view full-size in your browser)

Steps to view a map in Logos using CIV

  1. Locate the map you want to view in CIV
  2. Right-Click on the map in your resource
  3. In the popup menu click on Image on the right side of the menu
  4. Then click on Copy on the left side of the menu
(now the image is in your clipboard)

  5. Now click on the Favorite in your CIV folder to open the image in CIV

Logos will open CIV and your clipboard map image will show in CIV

Now you can zoom & pan the map in CIV. You can even have CIV show your map in the Full Screen mode (similar to Reading View in Biblical Places).
