So I recently picked up the Tyndale Commentary set, but Logos doesn't see it as a whole commentary. It sees my condensed commentaries as what they are, but books in a collection it seemingly doesn't. Is this normal with commentary sets?

If the library shows them all as type:commentary and series:(whatever) they should be treated as a whole in a linked set. If they don't share a series title it may be a metadata problem. Can you provide a screen shot to show us precisely what is not working as you expect.

Actually, I think I see what's going on now. Each of the parts are tagged as commentaries, but when I brought up the Passage Guide I didn't notice the name in the list, because it's not labeled as Tyndale, but as an 'Introduction and Commentary'. Because of this, if I search for the commentary in the command bar using the word, 'Tyndale' it doesn't appear as an available resource.

Hi Joel,

You can edit both long and abbreviated book titles to help with situations like this.  I've done this extensively in my library to help with easier identification in Passage Guide, to help with identification of open tabs, and so that resources from the same series are arranged together in the library.

I'm not at a computer with Logos at the moment, so I can't provide screenshots, but if you open your library, click the "i" button to open the information pane, and then click on a book, there are pencil icons next to the two titles allowing you to edit them.  So, for example, you could add a "Tyndale:" to the front of the long title and make the short title something like "Tyn Gen" so that it is easily recognizable in a shortened tab.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Ron! I know the 'i' button you mention... the problem is, there's no kind of batch edit, so I'll be looking at that for 40+ books. There are worse things in life, but I'd rather not edit all of them if I don't have to :)

From the library view you can mass edit a group of books.

When I click the underlined pencil, and edit the underlined name, any book selected with be changed.
