Michael Lyman:
Gadsby's & Olney's Hymns

These are of real interest to me

Gadsby's #10 & #379. We need more old hymns like these.

10                               L.M.                          J. Kent

    The Everlasting Love of God. Jer. 31. 3; Eph. 2. 4, 5

  1   ’Twas with an everlasting love

      That God His own elect embraced;

      Before He made the worlds above,

      Or earth on her huge columns placed.

  2   Long ere the sun’s refulgent ray

      Primeval shades of darkness drove,

      They on His sacred bosom lay,

      Loved with an everlasting love.

  3   Then in the glass of His decrees,

      Christ and His bride appeared as one;

      Her sin, by imputation, His,

      Whilst she in spotless splendour shone.

  4   O love, how high Thy glories swell!

      How great, immutable, and free!

      Ten thousand sins, as black as hell,

      Are swallowed up, O love, in Thee!

  5   Loved, when a wretch defiled with sin,

      At war with heaven, in league with hell,

      A slave to every lust obscene;

      Who, living, lived but to rebel.

  6   Believer, here thy comfort stands –

      From first to last salvation’s free,

      And everlasting love demands

      An everlasting song from thee

379                                7s                       J. Newton

             “Ask what I shall give thee.” 1 Kings 3. 5

      1 Come, my soul, thy suit prepare,

         Jesus loves to answer prayer;

         He Himself has bid thee pray,

         Therefore will not say thee, Nay.

      2 Thou art coming to a King;

         Large petitions with thee bring;

         For His grace and power are such,

         None can ever ask too much.

      3 With my burden I begin;

         Lord, remove this load of sin;

         Let Thy blood, for sinners spilt,

         Set my conscience free from guilt.

      4 Lord, I come to Thee for rest;

         Take possession of my ***;

         There thy blood-bought right maintain,

         And without a rival reign.

      5 As the image in the glass

         Answers the beholder’s face,

         Thus unto my heart appear;

         Print Thy own resemblance there.

      6 While I am a pilgrim here,

         Let thy love my spirit cheer;

         As my Guide, my Guard, my Friend,

         Lead me to my journey’s end.

      7 Show me what I have to do;

         Every hour my strength renew;

         Let me live a life of faith;

         Let me die Thy people’s death.

.

Add to that the Pentecost books The words and Works of Jesus Christ and A Harmony of the Words and Works of Jesus Christ. I am sure just about anyone who has used these two together will second the request with question.

Hard to believe this has been going on so long and no response.

It looks like even a Spanish version is almost funded

https://www.logos.com/product/183729/eventos-del-porvenir

and we can't even get a prepub or community pricing offer.
