I just saw this one on the new books table at the Regent College Bookstore today:

Thinking in Tongues: Pentecostal Contributions to Christian Philosophy, by James K. A. Smith (Eerdmans, 2010)

I concur that I would readily buy some of these resources for my library.

I'm a graduate of Regent (MCS 2004), but I still live in Vancouver so I audit classes there from time to time.

And I like to poke around in the bookstore. It's the best theological bookstore I'm aware of anywhere (Eighth Day Books in Wichita is probably a close second). Basically if they carry something, that's a good endorsement of it in my mind. I have a hard time going in there without coming out carrying several newly purchased books.

With MaCarthur as one of your heroes Mr Hans, I don't see the logic behind this request...lolBig Smile

Having said that, I wholeheartedly agree with you.  Especially Renewal Theology by J.Rodman Williams.  Of course, anything by Gordon F Fee.

Maybe a collection of Pentecostal/Charismatic history would be good...take some of the key figures (like those in Liardon's "God's Generals") and supply all of their literature, biographies, etc.  Maybe even mp3 collection.

I am wondering if anyone would like to start a discussion on Branham's "Serpent-seed" theology...lol...now that would liven any forum.  (Of course I say this tongue in cheek, as L4 forum is for just that...L4).

My reminder to LOGOS again:

God's empowering presence by Gordon Fee

Fee offers a fresh and in-depth exegesis of every Spirit text in the Pauline corpus. Part Two synthesizes the analysis presented in Part One into a coherent invitation to consider the Holy Spirit’s crucial role in Pauline theology.

By the way, I wanted you all to know that every title mentioned in this thread is currently in my "wishlist," which is a spreadsheet I keep on my computer of all the titles I want to pursue next. Thank you all for your suggestions!

I am searching similar stuff. Some historical books about Pentecostalism will be great. Books by Allan Anderson and Harold Hunter will be helpful.
