I decided to start a new post as potentially previous posts could be viewed as showing this problem has been fixed.

There still appears to be a problem with the metadata updates for the tyndale commentaries. Two updates have come out:

1st update gave the series metadata for all except 2 books - 2 Peter Jude was blank and 1 Corinthians had the wrong data.

2nd update corrected these two books

The problem is only some people received both updates. Myself and others only received the 2nd update, so we have 2 books with the correct metadata and the rest without.

see: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/9832.aspx

Is there any way of receiving the 2nd update? Is there a way of forcing logos to update the metadata?

Try "Update Now" and  "Update Resources" in the command line.

My understanding is that metadata updates may be sent out separate from the normal resource updates. In this case the Update Resources command might not do anything. Unless Logos can answer how to get your info synced the process would probably be to delete the offending files from your Resources folder, forcing a re-download of the resources which should have the correct metadata. This isn't elegant, and I hope Logos can give you some help here. If you don't hear soon, a call to Tech Support might give the answer you need.

Just been playing and sorted it myself.

I went into C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\fr2tddy4.pgn\Updates

I renamed/deleted Metadata.db

Reloaded Logos and after a couple of minutes of being loaded up it regenerated the file including all the metadata updates

Thanks all anyway for your advice

A command to do this via Logos would be helpful, wouldn't it?

But it did not work for me. Notably because I could not find the folder that contains the information. The pathway was not the same on my laptop. Don't know why (unless its because I am still running XP). I will have to wait for Logos, or contact Service.

I hope an XP user will chime in with the exact location. It could be in a hidden folder. In that case you have to unhide it.

You could search for it. Use 'Search for files and folders' and type in 'metadata.db' or just metadata and see if you can locate it that way.

The bit with the random letters (ie. ...\Data\x1[etc etc]\Updates) will be random.  Nevertheless, it will be the only folder in the Data folder.  For example, mine is

..\Logos4\Data\4cc0fp2d.j0g

Hey all - it worked for me, too!

I appreciate all the info and troubleshooting. Hopefully I can help some of you someday.

I assume I am going to have to do this on each of my computers.

Bob and other XP users: Maybe try and do a search for the file. Just make sure the search includes hidden folders and files.

BTW, I jumped from XP to Windows 7. With nothing else changed, I saw a noticeable bump in L4's speed and response. I don't know if it was from the W7 install itself, or the fact that I had to reformat the hard drive and start over. But there was a difference. I am even able to run L4 on an older laptop with only 1GB of memory and while not great, I get acceptable performance. When it had XP on it, it was really not usable.
