Media Resources in Passage Guide

In passage guide I get a message saying "We haven't finished this feature yet, Check back in a future release!" It seems odd that this works on the iPad app but not in the Mac app. Do we have any idea regarding when this will be implemented?

Bulk Star Ratings Not Working

I've reproduced this on two computers so far. In 4.5b SR-1, while in the library panel, I select multiple books (whether by ctrl-A, or shift-click) and it gives the option to "set the same rating for all". Problem is, there's no place to click on a star rating and actually set it. I can clear ratings without a problem.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

A Plea for a Functional "Biblical Places" on Mac

I have reported bugginess with Logos for Mac's Biblical Places before, but it continues to be a very buggy aspect of Logos for Mac. Therefore, I am pleading with you, Logos, to make this aspect of Logos for Mac functional.

As it stands now, Biblical Places jumps, jolts, and stutters whenever I lookup a city/place. If I attempt to change maps it zooms way out, spikes my Mac's processor for several seconds, and then jolts all over the place before finally zooming in. I can't even scroll through the maps at the bottom of the Biblical Places screen without encounter stuttering. And I can't tell you how frustrating it is to have to go through eight zooming, stuttering, spasmatic map changes to find the one map you want/need. Yes, I can preview the maps by hovering, but I rarely find the best map on my first couple of attempts.

I appreciate the functionality that Biblical Places is attempting to provide (i.e. measuring of distances, linking to google earth, showing the relationships between maps, etc). However, at this point a simple slideshow format to the maps would be much better for study. All I want to do is access the maps I have in my library, but I cannot. At this point, the functionality of the Logos "Atlas" is actually worse than using a dead-tree version.

Therefore, I ask: Isn't this program supposed to be saving my time? As it stands now it takes me five minutes to do what I can do in a book in about 30 seconds with a ruler.

This seems like such basic functionality for a Bible program, I cannot believe I am even having to ask for this to be fixed.

I am looking at EX 31.10 and the sample holy garments. I am not seeing the Absolute designation for the word holy. I have a screen shot, is there another place in LOGOS I can see this parsing?

Is the word 'normal' in the parsing mean Absolute ?

Logos 64 bit

This may have been covered in another post, but I was unable to find it.

Does Logos plan on going to 64 bit on Mac? I do not know the nuances of 32 vs 64 bit and how it handles memory, but was under the impression that 32 bit apps can only utilize a certain portion of memory (say 4GB?).

If Logos were a 64 bit, would that allow for greater utilization of memory and this improve the speed a bit? Just curious.

Also, are there any plans to allow Logos to become full screen in Lion?

Can someone remind me... or: LOGOS, how do I get the books I've paid for?

I don't want all the regressions in 4.5b. They seem to far outweigh any possible gain. So I haven't updated.

Only, Logos doesn't allow us to choose what to download... So by now I have at least 3 prepubs, some Vyrso books, and quite possibly some resource updates waiting in the queue, and I'm beginning to want them...

Can someone remind me exactly what happens when a software update is downloaded? There is an Install button to click for it as well as the one for the resources, right? So I should be able to download everything, and then delete the software update before it's installed, right? Or will the update download first, and nothing else come through until and unless the update is installed?

Logos: this really highlights the problem with these forced 'everything-or-nothing' downloads. We need to get control of our own downloads!

Loaded Logos on a new MacBook Air and it crashes on opening

I downloaded Logos to put on a macbook air. The program downloads without a problem. I try to open the program and an error log pops up. I ws able to download it on a MacPro, about 5 years old and it opens without a problem.

I would like to have it successfully installed on the laptop.

Highlighting and copying text from the footnotes

Hi guys, I'd really appreciate if you'd made this possible. I know that if I copy text containing a footnote, I can choose to copy also the footnoting, but I sometimes I want to highlight or copy text from the footnotes only.

Global University resources lost all answers on end of chapter tests, all books

A few nights ago an update appeared on my screen to which I accepted. I went into my Global course and found that all my answers have disappeared. The questions, and the multiple choice circle is there but nothing else. Some areas of the book are messed up also. missing text etc.(Please visit the site to view this media)

Frequent Logos 4 crash with MacBook

Hi, I have experience a number of crashes with Logos 4 which was installed on my Macbook.

Sometimes, the software crashed(Please visit the site to view this media) and shutdown almost immediately after I opened the application.
Most of the time, the crash happened while I was highlighting the bible verses and keying in notes, and occasionally when I was trying to export the notes.

The application is also very very slow when I was trying to key in the notes. I have upgrade my Mac memory from 4G to 8G but that doesn't solve the problem.

For your advice, please

BUG: Large number of missing links in the Talmud + TOC improvement wish

1) There seems to be lots of links in the Talmud that aren't actually linked. E g all I get when I click on the links below is a little popup telling me what the abbreviation means -- and even that I have to click to see, and click to get rid of; it doesn't show on hover.

2) The TOC of the Jerusalem Talmud is organized by division. The TOC of the Babylonian Talmud is organized by volume. That means an awful lot of folder opening for a novice like me who doesn't know in what end to start looking for a particular tractate. And when you've finally got it all opened, it still makes it harder to find the right one, and it takes up more space, requiring more scrolling. (Plus the last major update destroyed every one of my opened TOCs and set them back to default. )

I realize you're probably restricted by the printed books, but if the Babylonian TOC could be made to look like the Jerusalem one, it would be much more helpful. The volume number doesn't really mean much in an electronic version. And I bet the hardbacks have the tractate[s ] on the back. Imagine if you had to drag each volume out of the shelf before you could see what it's about.

Home Page - 'Resources Updated' ... now truncated, or was it ever so?

I just had a large download (30-40 resources) so I went to the homepage to see what had arrived.

The home page gave a list of some together with 'and 20 more...'.

I clicked on the 20 more, and only 3 appeared ... filling the 'frame' that had been allocated to the 'updated resources' article when the home page was first paginated.

In my mind I seem to remember the home page re-paginating or expanding to display the full list of the 'updated resources' including the 20 more.

Am I imagining this feature? ... did the '20 more' link expand the article to show the remainder?

I have tried F5 several times and in some cases the large 'updated resources' (downloaded today) does not appear at all, and in where it does appear it would not expand regardless of where it appears on the home page (top, right, left, bottom etc.)

BTW. I will explore the library later since all my resources have a rating of 1+ except for the new ones ... I just wanted a quick look with breakfast!

Help with exporting printing notes

Hi,

Can anyone advise me how to export or print notes with the quotations I have highlighted expanded. I have prepared a number of note (books?), such as Doctrine of God, Doctrine of Creation. Athanasius—Christology, etc; when I last reviewed them I seemed to be able to print with the whole quotation coming through. Now when I print or export, frustratingly (like Kindle), I have a few words of the quotation an ellipsis... and the last words of the quotation. Very frustrating; help: how do I print or export my notes with the full texts I have highlighted from various book? I do not want these abbreviated. I use a MacBook Air with Logos 4.5b SR-1 (4.52.0.2194). Thanks.

Bug: Midi Hymn extremely soft on L4M

Hi,

I am running Logos for Mac 4.5a (4.51.0.2048), I noticed all the Midi Hymns in Logos are played too softly. Please note that Logos for Windows on the same version runs perfectly with Windows 7 under Parallels 7 on the same MacBook Pro.

Are there any workaround(s)

PS: I notice Quicktime 7 has the same Midi Volume issue, however, most other 3rd party MIDI players runs OK on OS X Lion.

Logos won't sync

Just updated and have Logos 4.5b SR-1 (4.52.0.2194). All of a sudden I have the yellow triangle in the upper right hand corner and I don't want to restart and lose what I've done.

BUG: Resource ignores font setting

Resources are supposed to open in the font I have set in Preferences, right? So why does the one on the left use another font than the one I opened to the right for comparison?

REGRESSION: space between shortcuts

A major release about a year ago significantly increased the spaces between shortcuts, so that probably about 40% of mine disappeared off the screen. A shortcut you have to first click the little arrow to even see is a considerably less useful shortcut. Could you please put them closer together again.

Display Bug - Logos 4 Mac 4.5b SR1

Most bugs I find these days I don't have the time to report, but this one is unusually annoying. I'm running the latest build - 4.5b SR1 and when I go to look at a media resource, the resource appears for a split second and then disappears to a blank panel. If I float the panel or manipulate it a bit, I can get it to display the resource properly. This started with 4.5b, but now that we are at SR1, I thought I had better call it in.

Logos 4 intermittently hangs for approx 10 seconds every few minutes

Hi Logos Forum ...

This is my first post, and I am excited about learning and thrilled about becoming more efficient with the software.

However, when logos 4 is open, my system (OSX Lion) sometimes hangs for about 10 seconds (sometimes with the spinning wheel, others with the pointer in tact & OS seems not to respond). This is true whether or not I'm using Logos primarily or perhaps on safari or doing something else. It only happens intermittently every 5-10 mins or so. I'm not so sure if it's looking to update. When Logos 4 is closed, I never see the issue across any of the software or my network machines.

I've allowed it to index, and used the software without issue before. The issue is apparent on this machine and our other mac (and gaming system). This is leading me to believe maybe logos is doing something intense due to some setting I haven't uncovered. No problems when i am typically downloading anything outside of logos either.

I do understand Logos is intense, but I imagine my machine is capable (intel mac pro, 16 GB).

Has anyone seen this issue, or might there be something in preferences that can help me through.

Purchases Not Showing in Library?

Normally when I purchase books or packs it just downloads them to my Library, but this time it didn't? This morning I purchased a journal pack and the Tyndale Commentary set along with one single book, but none are showing in my Library on my iMac, my iPad, or even my Kindle Fire?

Just wondering if there is something I'm not doing that I should be doing. I have opened and closed Logos4 several times and it says it synced and updated my Library? Thanks for any suggestions. Scott

MAC Logos4 Open and Crash

AAARRGGGG! Logos stop working after Lion 10.7.4 update?

I cannot start Logos after Lion 10.7.4 update. I tried reinstalling it at least 5 times. Reinstalled lion as well but no success. Very frustrating.

When I start Logos the app opens, the screen appears grey, the music plays, and then it shuts down. I tried everything but my Logos just does not work anymore.

Sync Error

Logos Bible Software 4.5b SR-1 (4.52.0.2194)

I have been experiencing continued errors with sync. I have the yellow exclamation point at the top right of desktop. It has been this way yesterday and today. I have restarted Logos and rebooted the computer and the error is still there. Can anyone confirm this?
