I realize these forums are for discussing Logos and the various products. But I do not know of any other forum that exists in the "home field" in which to ask this question.
Does anyone know of a good documentary that focuses on the history of Christianity? I do not want a re-enactment or something that is meant to proselytize. I also don't want one in which the goal is to say how false Christianity is either. I realize Christian history has its' challenges and controversies which is fine.
PS - if anyone knows a better place to ask such a question that is a hang out for fellow Christians then please let me know. I just know that here, while people may disagree about some issues software or otherwise we are all together on the important things.

You could try the sister forum christiandiscourse.com which we're meant to use to discuss non-Logos matters.
However, if you re-phrased your question, "does the Logos/Verbum software currently contain any videos / multimedia on the history of Christianity from an academic point of view that neither proselytizes or attempts to discredit the religion?", people could legitimately answer here. And if there aren't any such resources within the Logos/Verbum software, I'm sure somebody could point you to other resources that they have which it would be useful for Faithlife to attempt to obtain... :)

PBS's Frontline show is highly regarded and non-proselytizing, nor disrespectful of Christianity. They did a special 5-part documentary called "From Jesus to Christ: The First Christians" available here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/religion/
You can also find a number of such docs on YouTube by searching for History of Christianity documentary.
The Great Courses (The Teaching Company) has a number of video classes on the history of Christianity which are almost documentary-like. Their stuff is exceptionally high quality. http://www.thegreatcourses.com/search/?q=history+of+christianity

Thanks Rosie! I had heard of the Frontline piece but was fearful it was meant to simply draw doubt upon the faith (given that it is a PBS creation). I will check it out.
I also will look into the others that you mention. Given the time of year the airwaves will be filled with documentaries and such that are meant to criticize the faith.

I think PBS is a high quality organization and has a lot of really good stuff. I don't know where you heard that by its very nature it would tend to draw doubt upon the faith. It does do stories on things that some Christians (but by no means all) find objectionable, and so I think in some circles there is a big distrust of it, but it isn't trying to undermine belief. Here's another good piece they did on Christianity and its connection with America's history: http://www.pbs.org/godinamerica/ Sure, it's not Christian organization, but I didn't think you were looking for a proselytizing documentary, rather something that just presented the historical facts in as objective a way possible.
