Two recommendations on 3/3: A commentary and a Vyrso gem

Today's Twitter deal is half off Holman's Commentary on Luke by Trent Butler. Check https://twitter.com/logos (and consider following, if you're doing Twitter)
The verse-by-verse commentary is a devotional/application oriented piece which aims at personal edification and group bible study, including quotes, illustrations, main/supporting ideas, prayers, teaching outlines, discussion questions and fill-in boxes etc. At this price, an absolute steal.
While I was at it, I looked for other works from this author: He is among the authors/editors of many of Holmans dictionaries - and he wrote one, "Exploring the Unexplained: A Practical Guide to the Peculiar People, Places, and Things in the Bible" for Thomas Nelson which currently sells for $2.99 from Vyrso. Interesting title - what is this? At least not another folded brochure turned ebook: the format gives in-a-nuthell information on hundreds of less well-known persons/things/places from the bible (e.g. on seven Simons, but not Peter) and in its printed edition has 290 pages. Each entry contains a section called "Issue" with application ideas/questions - I'll give two as an example below - couldn't let this gem pass. This "Best deal" offer has no regular price which would make it show up when sorting by savings, so I found it more by accident - check it out. 2.99 - don't say nobody told you.
Examples
Tubal-cain Person Gen. 4:22
Tubal-cain was a man in primeval history whose name means “maker-smith.” He introduced metal work and blacksmithing to civilization.
Issue: Genesis 4 introduces the basic elements of culture. In what way is cultural progress beneficial for us, and in what way is it harmful? Does our control and use of technology represent human progress or human venture and risk? What is the relationship between God and cultural progress?
Tychicus Person Acts 20:4; Eph. 6:21; Col. 4:7; 2 Tim. 4:12; Titus 3:12
Paul’s trusted companion Tychicus hailed from the province of Asia. Paul promised the churches at Ephesus and Colosse that Tychicus would give them a full report of Paul’s ministry, and Tychicus was probably responsible for delivering Paul’s letters to those churches. Paul trusted him enough to promise to send him or Artemas to help Titus.
Issue: A good minister trains and trusts young ministers to broaden the elder worker’s ministry. How many of Paul’s young helpers can you name? Is your church working to train young people as ministers? Are you gradually giving each of the young ministers more responsibility and a broader arena of service?
Have joy in the Lord!
