I can't imagine that the principles of logic have changed, but even the minimum bid of $19 is too high for me for books as dated as these. Thesr aren't the type of resources I see benefitting from Logos tagging. Or am I missing something?

When FL creates the scale, they estimate the demand for the resource(s) and set the scale appropriately. They apparently think a smaller population would be interested in these resources. I <might> be interested at $10, but you would need roughly double the demand at that price point to equal the $19... and yet the demand at $19 is currently only at 30%.
It is possible that there would be greater interest in this resource if they did create lower price points... who knows.

Yeah, I went ahead and bid at the lowest price point ($19) but if a lower price point doesn't eventually become available I may cancel my bid.

Agreed. My question was not so much about cost as it was whether these particular resources would really benefit from Logos tagging. That said, the tagging is related to the cost of having it in Logos, so there you go.

I think it would add so much interest and motivation to know what kind of numbers of people are bidding.

Certainly this is the reason for me. I love the convenience of having it in Logos. My guess it that these may also be references to other resources in my library like Aristotle and Plato etc.

I bid the lowest $19.
If lots of others join in I could see the price of this go down further.

I just did too, to stay connected - but I suspect if it goes to PrePub at $19 I'll cancel my order.

Question: What happens?
A CP goes for say $19 meaning that at X number of sales at $19 Faithlife can produce the product.
The Pre-pub price is say $30. Then a large % cancel their order say 10% so now Faithlife is short by 10%.
Then what happens? Will it stay in Pre-pub at $30 with no prospects of additional sales?
Or will it go back to CP until the 10% of canceled bids is recovered?

I'm in. Let's see what happens.

Once a resource goes over 100% I believe Faithlife is committed to moving the resource into production. Yes cancelling is an option afterwards but I certainly I hope people don't just bid for the sake of bidding with the intent to cancel.

I don't know where I read it, so I could be mistaken, but I think community pricing is now dynamic where Faithlife can add more fine grained bid increments as things progress. If enough people bid $19, we might open the possibility for something lower?

Correct. If we go over $19 the scale could move to the left and we could go lower. It's also possible that bid increments could become smaller.

FL must manually add lower price points. It isn't an automatic process.

Placed my bid for $19, but probably won't buy it at this price. Somebody suggested $10 - sounds about right to me.

That is about the most I would want to pay for these. Maybe someone from Faithlife will intervene and lower thebprice at some point. Then again, I would imagine these books would require a decent amount of manual work if they include a significant amount of the symbols often used in as shorthand in logic. That may impact how low the price can go unless there is significant interest from users. Judging by this thread, the interest is there, but the price isn't right (yet).

C.S. Peirce's book really should not have been buried as the fifth book on the page. Of course, it's about much more than logic.

The more I look at this set, the less interested I am. I am far more interested in symbolic logic (given my math and computer science background) than I am in the logic of language.
Also, I wonder if this set is being offered/discussed by the users of Noet?

My assumption is that this will end up in NOET after it ships.

I think that is a fair assumption.

Also, given the subject matter, I think this would be an appropriate thing to plug here. A lot of bang for the buck in that one!

40 volumes is a lot. Thanks for giving this a push as well.
