I have added a web page to my proclaim presentation to play an online video.  However Proclaim will not expand the video to full screen from the web page - it is still just a small part of the main web page.

Does anyone have any solution to make the video full screen through Proclaim without having to switch from Proclaim to the Webpage and back again?

Thanks!

Where is the video that you are trying to play? If it is a YouTube video, Proclaim is supposed to make it fullscreen automatically. For other sites, you should look for an 'Embed link'. Here is an example from Vimeo:

https://player.vimeo.com/video/136448409?autoplay=1&color=74ff24&fullscreen=1

^ that is the link that would be embedded on someone website. I added the '&fullscreen=1' to the end which made it fullscreen.

There is probably a similar way to do this for your video as well. I can take a look if you post the link here.

Jordan,

Thanks for the post.  It is from a subscription Bible Study website called rightnow.org.  I don't see an "embed" link on the page but I may just be missing it.  Anyways, here is the link (it may not do anything for you - you may have to sign in):

Thanks!

You are right, I can't see the video at that link. :( However, I wanted to ask a clarifying question. Are you trying to click a 'Fullscreen' button on the video from within Proclaim and it isn't working? If it is not working, that sounds like a bug

I am trying to click "full screen" on the webpage.  I am able to log in and navigate around to watch the video from the webpage while in Proclaim but it won't go full screen.

Thanks

I'm trying to test this but am not able to without a subscription. Would be worth posting a question to the rightnowmedia.org support page here https://support.rightnow.org/forums

You're looking for a fullscreen link, similar to youtube's embed links (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/embed/fKgNMlrQU-I)

I did.  Because it is a subscription site, they are not posting an embed link for the Bible Study videos...

Is there a way you could remotely control computer to see what it is doing?

Jason, I've contacted RightNow to follow up on this issue and am awaiting a response from them. Once I am able to see your video we will have a better idea how to solve this.

Jason, I haven't heard back from RightNow at this time. Are there any other websites (preferably not subscription-based) from which you have had the same problem with fullscreen video?

I tried it with youtube and it worked perfectly - went to full screen automatically.  It seems that it is just the RightNow website.

I've been in touch with the RightNow staff and we are attempting to resolve this issue, Jason. At this time we're not sure what is causing the videos to malfunction.

Which browser/OS are you using?

I wanted to update you on this issue, Jason. RightNow media, which uses the Vimeo player, has certain privacy settings to protect their copyrighted material. Some of these privacy settings seem to affect the ability to fullscreen a video, and they make a workaround difficult.

As of right now, we've figured out a way to play videos from Vimeo in essentially fullscreen mode. We are not yet able to fullscreen any videos that use the Vimeo player on third-party sites like RightNow.

We're still openly communicating with the RightNow staff to investigate if there is a possible solution to this. So far, they have offered the workaround of downloading the videos directly and then inserting them into the presentation, which seems like a reasonable solution for the time being.

I'll continue to update you on our progress, thanks for your patience.

Thanks for your hard work on this Peter.  I really appreciate it!

I have a quick question concerning the downloading potential...are they going to let me download the Bible study?  They allow you to download some illustrations/videos but I was told that I could not download the Bible studies.

Thanks!

Jason

You're welcome. I'll update you when any further progress is made. As of right now, if you can't download the Bible studies then playing them without being fullscreen is unfortunately the best we can do.

As always, I'll stay in touch with RightNow and let you know what develops. Thanks again for your patience.
