Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a Bible software for the first time, and one of my criteria is DSS/Qumran support. I am a PhD student who will have to work closely with the original texts of the dead sea scrolls found at all of the caves both biblical and non-biblical. English translations and morphological tagging are also a must.
I read this article (written 2013) http://brianwdavidson.com/2013/09/11...ailable-texts/ and it seems like Logos only has (1) the original language of the non-biblical texts that are found only at Qumran, (2) the original language of all of the biblical texts, (3) the English translation of non-biblical texts found only at Qumran, and (4) the English translation of all biblical texts. See the summary table at the end of the article for a helpful breakdown.
My questions are:
1. Is Accordance the only software that provides support for all of the original texts, including English translations and morphological tagging?
2. Is the article that I mentioned still correct today, especially with its description on what Logos has to offer? Or have things been updated/added?
3. If the article is correct with its description on Logos' has to offer, will Logos be adding the remaining DSS texts to its add-ons (i.e., original language of non-biblical from other caves and English translation of the Hebrew/Aramaic of the non-biblical texts)? If so, is there a timeline as to when Logos will offer the remaining texts of DSS?
4. If Logos ends up providing support for the other remaining texts listed in #3, then will these be included free for those who currently have the DSS/Qumran add-on? Or will a separate fee be required?
Sorry for so many questions! Bible software is quite the investment, so I just want to make sure that I do my due diligence before making the purchase.
