Performance Problems (Way Slow)

Over the weekend (Last weekend, November 14-15, 2015) we attempted to edit and preview our Sunday presentation and all the refresh/sync functions were unbelievably slow.

I am the pastor, and as I was loading my sermon into a "Content" slide stream it would take about 20 seconds to a minute whenever I made any change at all (adding a period, underlining, adding a slide separation, etc.). That was Saturday night. It normally takes me about 15-20 minutes to complete my sermon slides. It took 2.5 hours.

On Sunday morning, our worship leader attempted to add our song slides and it was the same. Refresh/sync for any and every edit took a full minute or more. And, the "On Air" screen performance once things were all updated was super-sluggish, such that we ended up going back to EasyWorship (in an emergency right before the start of our first service)! It put a lot of unnecessary stress on all of us.

All systems are Windows 10 with 8GB of RAM, lots of video RAM. My notebook has an i5 processor. The Sanctuary has an i7. We had note had any problems before. No recent changes. Verizon FIOS Ultimate for internet at multiple locations. Nothing else Internet related had any performance issues.

We really like the cloud-based collaboration, but this was really a set back for us. Help!

Hi, Bob, and welcome to the forums. This isn't a known issue, and I can't reproduce the same sluggishness when I load your presentation so I'll follow up offline to get this resolved.

Was there a solution to this?  I am having the same problem.

We found that one of internal caches was growing larger than needed and getting fragmented which reduced performance. On Monday we shipped (version 1.31.0.0836) a fix that will clear and rebuild this cache.

You can determine the version you are running by following the instructions here:

http://support.proclaimonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/204168909-What-version-of-Proclaim-am-I-running-

When you start Proclaim it will rebuild this cache for your opened presentation. This may take a minute or so as it re-renders all of your slides. After this things should not be sluggish. You can tell when the slides are rebuilt - they will no longer appear as blank within the presentation.

If, after the slides are rebuilt, you are experiencing issues would you please attach your logs to this thread.

7444.Proclaim Logs.zip

Here are the logs

I think the correct version is installed.  When I first open the file I get perhaps 3 or 4 edits at regular speed then everything slows way down (up to 15 seconds or more to refresh if one character is added to a slide)

Thanks for your help

We are investigating here but, just to set your expectations, may not make too much progress with the long weekend.

One thing to try on your end would be to manually delete the Proclaim cache yourself - we will regenerate it when we restart. When Proclaim is not running in this directory:

C:\Users\dhochstedler\AppData\Local\Proclaim\Data\jc2qhd5e.nsp\SlideCacheManager\

Rename SlideCacheManager.db to Backup_SlideCacheManager.db.

If, when you restart Proclaim and it is done regenerating your Presentation slides, Proclaim is now fast would you please attach your Backup_SlideCacheManager.db to this thread.

Thanks for taking the time to help us investigate this issue.
