If I wanted to create a Reading Plan for Calvin how would I do that since there are no page numbers?

If I wanted to skip the first 31 pages which incidentally ARE marked in my specified Calvin resource and start reading at Book One The Knowledge of God the Creator Chapter 1 and END at Book Four Chapter XX.32 with the last words, "God Be Praised"  how would I do that?

You could just allow Logos to auto-generate a plan. It would split the resource up into the number of sessions you specify but wouldn't "snap" to chapter boundaries

To do that you would need to create a Custom Reading plan which gives you all the control you need but would take a lot of setting up for something as large as the Institutes

So would this work for let's say, The Apocrypha: The Lutheran Edition: Text?

I'd like to include ALL pages in the above Resource which has about 100 pages (introductory matter) in Roman numerals?

you may want to look here: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/98648.aspx whether what you want to accomplish has already been done and shared.

Following up on that thread I see there are four plans at https://faithlife.com/read-calvins-institutes-in-2015/documents

EDIT: These plans are for last year - starting in January 2015 - and I don't know how one would adjust them to become active again now.

Yes - it should work fine.

I watched your video, however I have a question as to how do I include these for my first reading day. (see below).

I would select the text that you want included - so scroll down with your mouse through the text - and when you have it all selected "drag" the selection to the place that says "drag a shortcut here"

Other options are possible depending on how resources are indexed but this is probably the simplest. It seems a pain but I set one up yesterday for a book with a few hundred pages in just a few minutes.

So I have just copied all the material I want to read for the next 30 thirty day in a Custom Reading Plan.

This material is not the actual text of the Apocrypha, but all the introductory matter.

Starting February 1 I want to begin reading the actual text of the Apocrypha.

Can I still use the Custom Reading Plan I made or do I need to use Generate a Reading Plan and auto-populate the text to spread out from February to the end of December?

If I can use my Custom Reading Plan how would I incorporate the Apocryphal text spread over the next 11 months (Feb-Dec).

To incorporate the Apocrypha text in your custom plan you would need to specify each section yourself - I would recommend using a auto-generated plan for this.

Yeah I kind of thought that after I fiddled around with making a plan so I did the auto-generate plan and will be using that.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Graham,

I bolded your edit remark - I think I will post my answer in a separate post. Stay tuned!

If you don't want to re-invent the wheel, I made one last year for a Facebook group. It took me two weeks.  It is available in the Faithlife group,

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.

Doc, that's the tip Graham and myself gave above. I just posted about how to utilize this 2015 plan in 2016.

To make this simpler for all, I created a new FL group called "Read Calvin's Institutes in a Year". I re-created the Institutes reading plans for 2016 (starts Monday, Jan 4).
