Hi,
I have tried several times to send an e-mail to morrisp@mpseminars.com but never received a reply. Has anybody had more luck in contacting Morris?
Armin
Armin, in the past I have had that problem. I emailed 2 or 3 different emails 2 or 3 different times over the course of a year or so, lol. FINALLY got a reply, they were apologetic, but I can't tell you what their reason was. I know from your end (at least it was from mine) that was very frustrating, but having said that, MP and all who work for him are always very helpful (in person!) and once we established email contact, he (mo) was more than vigilant and helpful. Are you going to a seminar? 1st time, or? Whatever it is, i have always gained so much from them (in L3 days at least!)
I have sent a couple of messages to David Kitchen without getting a response.
Interesting to watch - an old business adage, "One oops wipes out a whole bunch of atta boys". It's amazing to me when companies work so hard to promote themselves, advertise, write blogs, etc., yet let themselves fall unresponsive to customers or potential customers.
This type of testimonial says a lot to people who may be considering using their services but now may think twice about it. Unresponsiveness over a period of time is about the worst thing you can do to a customer IMHO (compare to Bob's attempts to always communicate with his customer base no matter how tough the issue!).

You hit the nail right on its head. This is exactly what I feel. I never asked for Morris Proctor's constant announcements by e-mail but he sends them to me. His self-promotion can get really annoying. But then he is not interested in replying to potential customers. The result is: I won't use them.
I also agree with your comment about Bob. He has thousands of clients and when you send him an e-mail with a feature suggestion he sends you a thank-you note (even though I did not expect a reply). Bob, you are just an amazing guy! The result is: I keep coming back to Logos.
"When we are too busy for our customers, we are too busy."

I agree with Dominick that unresponsiveness over time is about the worst thing you can do to a customer . . . .
My caution to all is to make value statements about Morris Proctor, whether it be their marketing motive/intent, or their motive/reason for lack of customer contact. We flat out don't know why the response is lacking, and my own experience is that my frustration OFTEN leads me to wrong conclusions, and then I find myself very very [:$].
That said, this is apparently a significant and reoccurring problem with MPS. If I were them, I would immediately investigate why, and fix it, or at least communicate the issue to their (potential and current) customers, to keep the good will.
I have gained from every MPS I have been to (Camp I and Camp II). I have always found them helpful. But there was a time when after many emails went unresponded to, i began to take personal offense. Not saying that was right to go down that path of judgment, just emphasizing what happened to me, a person who DOES like MPS. Imagine people who are ambivalent about MPS.
We flat out don't know why the response is lacking
Perhaps, unjudgementally, someone can ask him. I am sure someone will be attending one of his training seminars soon could just, at a break, ask him privately if there is something to this...often, when things like this are happening, those we blame are not aware. He just may have a different way of communicating. I would expect quick email responses if he has requested questions via email and said a quick response would ensue, but I am not sure this it the case as I have not sought his help.
Much to my amazement, I have found many companies that provide email as a method of communication, but never set up the internal infrastructure to actually check their inbox.
My experience with Morris Proctor over a several year period, related to Logos 2 and Logos 3 materials, has been good. I remember calling on several occasiions and leaving messages and my calls were returned. If materials were late in being mailed out to me, I received an apology plus a bonus syllabus or cd. FYI
A lot of companies fail in this area.
It took Moody Bible Institute six months to answer my first contact inquiring about their Foundation of Biblical Ministry (AM Bible Courseware) http://www.logos.com/products/details/2191 . Logos 4 came out & I lost interest.
When I was attempting to buy the out-of-print Logos CD with Calvin/Spurgeon/ISBE the only source I found never answered. I know they are still in business.
My automated online billing notice from my electric company has had a spelling error in their url link for over two years running.
Just this past weekend it was mentioned in these forums Dave Kaplan's email had a snafu.
I hope Morris Proctor gets his emails. I am getting ready to re-register for the OKC Camp Logos coming up next week. I'll let you know.
The few times that I have tried to communicate, Morris has (or one of his helpers) always replied.
I have NEVER had this issue.
Is it possible that any of your spam settings etc can be interfering? I often hear from friends who have had their messages to me "bounced" back?
All the best,

not in my case, Steve. I really don't remember the exact situation that they explained, but I started getting frequent responses. (like it was a tech issue--but this was over a period of time)
I always check my junk mail methodically, too.
I have experienced a couple of delays in receiving responses from MPseminars. However they always responded. That said, my overall experience is that they have responded in an acceptable time frame. I have received replies from Morris and several members of his staff. Some of you probably recall that Morris has personally responded to posts on the L4 forum. I believe that the launch of Logos4 has created peak stresses on everyone concerned. Based on the many posts I have read, several of us are 'taxed to the max' by the launch of this product in greater measure than either Logos or MPseminars. Give them a call or try them again. I believe that you will fare better.

Good point! thanks Dan.
Morris has always responded to my question and ideas. I am sorry there seems to be a disconnect currently. I am sure it is not intended.

Armin,
I noticed in your post you said you emailed morrisp@mpseminars.com. I wanted to make sure that the email address you posted wasn't a typo as Morris' email address is morris@mpseminars.com, not morrisp@mpseminars.com. [:)] I'm sorry that you have not received a response yet, but he does take the time to reply to the emails he gets.

Thanks Deborah. This could be the case. I simply used the e-mail address from which the announcements are sent. Since my e-mail did not bounce, I assumed that it is a valid e-mail address. I will try the e-mail address you sent me.
YES on MorrisP@MPSeminars.com going to a wider Inbox that Morris@MPSeminars.com.
But his assistant, Shannon, at Shannon@MPSeminars.com, is probably the BEST one to contact first. It is Shannon's responsibility (I think) to handle messages, etc., and seminar support, and Shannon can very quickly get your question to Morris or Cindy depending on what it is.

and this is perhaps a good case in point!
As many have posted, Morris Proctor and his staff are always very gracious, kind, and helpful. Usually there is a reason when something doesn't add up--and we may have found it. Hope that gets you on the right path.
Call the toll-free number. I've always received a response to my inquiries.
Seems the people needing success wtih getting a response from Mr. Proctor should simply follow the direction of those that did have success. 2 follows 1, in other words.
Just to let everybody know,
I emailed Shannon about registration for the upcoming Camp Logos in OKC March 29th & 30th.
I've received back my confirmation email with all details taken care of. (I'm giddy with anticipatiuon [:P] )
No communication lag here!

Good for you, Matthew! I am kind of envious. I got an email about "nearby" Columbus (3 hours or so away), but I just can't afford it right now. It would be fun, however.
I had been registered for the January 28th & 29th OKC seminar but irt was postponed due to a blizzard we had. Morris rescheduled it right away but with the way life unfolds, I never knew for sure if I would get to attend before Logos 5.0 ships!
I just can't afford it right now.
That's too bad because that seminar is worth far more than its costs. I went last month in NC, and learned a great deal.

i definitely agree, I have always come away super glad I went.
I have a hard time believing YOU learned something, Jack! You're "the man" on all things L4! You "ain't" no slouch!!

You have confused me with that goateed guy [:D]
Thanks for the compliment.

But one could argue that the goateed guy lost his "amateur" status. . .[;)] just sayin. . .
I was blessed to be in Tampa seminar three weeks ago and I do believe it was something that will benefit my ministry for years to come. My biggest problem with Logos was having so much information that I would find myself constantly running rabbits and straying away from my specific study. Camp Logos helped me to be more specific and presented several organizing methods that have helped me be more focused in my study.
I definitely reccomend the seminars and will attend another one if they return to my area.
Thank the Lord for the people who develop and teach the Logos software!
Isn't it a great tool?
Maybe we get a little feel of what it was like when those folks first got their hands on their own Bible after the invention of the printing press. You think?
This assumes that you live in the US. If you live at the other end of the world, a toll-free number does not work.

I am not yet "very very [:$]". I believe if you use the Internet to promote your business, you need to make sure that the e-mail addresses that you use are checked for replies.
That e-mail address goes directly to our bulk e-mail server. Call me at the office and I will help you with this...thanks! Shannon ~MPSeminars

The day I returned to my office after attending Morris' latest training event in Dallas (Intro to Logos 4), I emailed him with a question he had not covered in those two days. He replied personally within 48 hours of my email with information that answered my question in a succinct but complete fashion.
No worries here.
grace, rob

The address I used was david@mpseminars.com which he gave me. Two message without a response.

I agree with you there. I do hope we remember ever since the release of Logos Version 4.0 the telephone lines have been burning up with Customer Service calls and the posts in the Logos forums have been piling up so quickly we can barely read them all. It would stand to reason the Morris Proctor organization has also been swamped. The occassional snafu will happen no matter how hard the humans try to be perfect.
Not everybody has the time or insanity to lurk in the forums 25hrs a day like the weirdos with stars or high post counts (or goatees.)
I hope you can call Shannon at the number given and get satisfaction. I know Morris would but he appears to be hosting a seminar in Seattle, WA today & tomorrow. Give Shannon a call.
I have contacted Morris Proctor several times and have always received a promt reply, always the same day within the 2 to 3 hours.
Armin - you will find Skype and other similar services useful in this respect - doesn't deal with the time difference of course.

I really appreciated getting to meet Morris at the latest MP Seminar (Seattle March 16-17). It was excellent and I highly recommend it for anyone who hasn't taken one before. Morris is a top notch teacher. Thank you, Mo!
Thanks Rosie for the kind words! It was an honor to meet you. Also, many thanks for your valuable input into the seminar. Your suggestions were right on point for the class.Blessings,Moe
Morris, please come and do a seminar or two in New Zealand....if you haven't been here, it is an amazing country to visit....and we could use the Logos Camp [:D]
I couldn't have expressed my frustration over several years and multiple attempts to contact Morris, or anyone else at his office who cared--except to accept an order. One of my letters was to compliment him on his stated devotion to the Word, another was to let him know one of his video ads (I really wanted to see) was not streaming well enough to follow.
I finally had to consider that he was just trolling for sales, but unwilling to provide service unless paid. Because of this (and admittedly my lack of interest in travelling somewhere away from home to learn anything I could learn from a video that) I have never attended a live seminar.

Dear Mr Fugate (I would call you Rick but my esteem for you makes me uncomfortable being that familiar.)
If you want to delete your double posting you can click on the "More" tab at the top right of your post. There is a "Delete" option in the drop down menu.
edit: The "Delete" option has expired but you can still use the "Edit" option for a little while longer and just delete the content of the post, replacing it with "duplicate" so it foes not confuse others.
I wish we could get all of your books and your wife's books too in Logos format. (I had a Pre-Pub order for Mrs. Fugate's books but it never came to fruition) Your child training book helped my wife and I raise our 13 kids.
As a business owner myself with hundreds of customers the adage of too busy to reply is a cardinal sin.
Well, it happens sometimes. I e-mailed MPSeminars during christmas and it took them 2 days to answer my question, but they answered and even gave me the discount I requested, so I can't complain. I usually wait about a week before I send out a second e-mail to companies I e-mail. Holman took 3 days to get back to me and I even got a free LBLA Study Bible (NASB equivalent in English) because I told them in a polite way that they were sort of misleading people with the claim that the LBLA was a wide margin bible when in reality it wasn't -- I decided to keep the Bible I had purchased, but in return they threw the Study Bible edition for free. It is a hardback, but hey, looks good on my coffee table and people who visit love the format. I even got some members at church to buy the leather edition and made a commission from it...[:P]
Alright, that's all folks!
Douglas

Rick, I had a similar experience. And the weird thing was, that on multiple other occasions I had always been treated quite promptly and with grace. After about 4 or 5 attempts to contact, I finally got through and got profuse apology from Morris, and prompt care. I don't remember what the situation was. I'll just say: sometimes things happen. I can tell you I was pretty upset--I don't like feeling ignored--and I was totally frustrated because I had questions I was getting no answers to. And that experience belied my experience at 2 or 3 seminars and other contact I had had with him (when I was NOT an alum): all VERY VERY helpful and professional. I would humbly counsel you to take a risk and do a seminar--I believe your experience will leave you thankful you put your qualms and frustrations aside. Good luck to you, regardless of your choice.

Rick,
I'd only add to Dan's idea which is a great one, that you can order the Camp Logos Live dvd's and return them if they are not what you expect. Logos sales mentioned that to me this past week. I can't imagine wanting to return Morris Proctor's teachings; I have Camp Logos dvds for version three and he is extremely gifted at presenting the software as others have also vouched in other threads. God Bless!
