Notes no longer sorting correctly

In a previous post, Melissa found a fix to my problem. Now that I am using L4b (4.02.3.7337) the problem of sorting notes in canonical order has returned, even using the reference selection. It use to work perfectly.
Also, it scrambled my notes that werealready in canonical order, putting NT books throughout the OT. Is this a new bug with the notes?

Dan, Are you adding the note to the Reference rather than the Selection? I.e., when you right-click on a verse, is Reference selected on the right side of the context menu when you choose 'Add a note to "note file"? If I add a note this way in B9, it is added in canonical order. This is the default when adding references to a note directly from a Bible or Commentary. If you are adding a note to a Selection, the default is to add it to the bottom. There may be sort options in a future release. Meanwhile, notes can be rearranged using drag and drop (this was put back in Beta 9). Melissa

Does this happen in new notes as well as ones you created in 4.0a, or imported from Logos 3?

Melissa, the problem seems to start once you change bible translations, and add note to a different translation.
with a new notefile (same verson) canon sort was working great..30+ records. until I changed translations.

Melissa, this is a known problem. I managed to get 2 Chronicles placed between adjacent verses of a psalm. I was quite proud of myself. [:D]
More seriously, while the verse maps are doing an excellent job of aligning verses for comparison purposes, the fact that most Scripture reference boxes do not allow the input of the verse-map is problematic. There are places where it will show which implies that they are working on it. But as more user-generated resources are created, it becomes a much more visible problem.

Melissa,
I did not change translations at all and it still stopped working.
I created a new "test" note and it seems to be sorting fine. My established "Bible Study" note still does not work though.

I think DominicM is right on this problem. I have been adding notes using the two KJV Bibles and I have sorting problems. Notice where it is putting the notes; in the middle of Genesis. [:S] When I start a new note, no problem sorting.

I've tested this in the latest build of 4.0c (post beta 1), with an L3 imported note, a 4.0b note, and a 4.0c note. It worked correctly in all three. For those notes attached to Bible references or selections that are not currently in correct canonical order, there will be a 'Sort' button in 4.0c Beta 2 that will allow you to quickly sort them into correct order.

Second that! Not being able to sort my notes alphabetically drastically limits the usability of notes.

Welcome to the Forums, Edward.
You appear to be making a suggestion ("sort my notes alphabetically") whilst this old thread is about a canonical sorting problem. This forum is primarily about Beta program issues (4.2 Beta 1). You can make suggestion:-
- in the Suggestions forum, or
- in the Logos4 forum (prefix the title with Sugg:), or
- Submit or Vote for Feature Suggestions (UserVoice)
As a newcomer I would direct you to the wiki for more information on L4 and how to use it.
