I am working on a PBB- it references previous locations within the docx file- i.e. see note at v.2b, how do I link that location to the "see note" location?

[[@Headword:v2b]] v.2b

...

...

[[See note at v.2b  >> Headword:v2b]]

The Headword name (v2b) doesn't have to be the same as your location (v.2b).

Thanks Dave- must not be holding my mouth right so far have not been able to get this to work- I know I'm missing something simple- I will eventually get it. Since I now see the formula I can refer back to Windows help.

Again thanks for the direction.

If you have "been unable to get this to work" I suggest you upload the (small) docx file for inspection.

See the notes on [[7:7f >> Headword:7.7f]] and [[7:7h >> Headword:7.7h]]

...

...

[[@Headword:7.7f]]7:7f For example Here γάρ introduces a specific example of ‘knowing sin’ from Paul’s own experience. -

I realized that The sense of the words ‘I knew’ in ἐπιθυμίαν ῇδειν ‘I knew coveting’ is the same as in ‘I knew sin’ in 7d: ‘1 came to know that it was sinful’.

.....

[[@Headword:7.7h]]7:7h You The Greek command is second person singular, but to avoid wrong meaning it may be necessary to render it as second person plural.

Note that the headword name was changed from a colon to a period i.e. 7.7f and 7.7h.

I am following the examples above but they are not working for my references. I run Word 2016, here is just one example:

at location I'm referencing: [[@Headword:1.8d]]1:8d I am the almighty One

appears like this within PBB:

my tag at location: the almighty One See the note on [[1:8d >> @Headword 1.8d]].

appears like this within PBB:

Any suggestions?

I haven't followed the discussion in detail but there should be a colon between "Headword" and "1:8d" so "@Headword:1.8d"

Does that help?

Yes, but with one exception instead of going to where I placed [[@Headword:1.8d]] it goes to "Notes" ( which is a Heading 2) about a page and half up from that location.

Any suggestion?

Can you post an extract of the document containing the couple of pages you refer to?

I can reproduce what you are seeing but can't explain it.

Sorry - hopefully someone else will be able to advise further.

I have been through Wiki site and Windows have found no resolution for this problem- waiting for someone to post.

There appears to be a quirk that a reference to a headword actually jumps you back to the closest preceding Heading milestone — what would show up in the sidebar TOC. That also affects the pop-up hover text, where the hover text for "See the note on 1.8d" is the first paragraph of the first section notes, i.e. Rev 1:4a. At least that's how it compiled for me. I also played around using page number milestones, but that didn't work well either.

What did work, though, were MS-Word bookmarks and in-document hyperlinks to bookmarks.

The attached version of your sample has an MS-Word bookmark called "oneeightd" inserted right before, "1:8d I am the almighty One..." Then in the text "See the note on 1.8d", the 1.8d is hyperlinked to that bookmark. When compiled, both the hover text and the click destination work as expected. Wish it would work with headwords right, though. Bookmarks and hyperlinks are a bear to work with via search and replace.

Ok played with this a little I have it linking though at first Logos didn't want to recognize the 1:8d reference- will keep at it and see what happens.
