Has anyone tried the Surface Dial with Logos to see if it allows for more precise scrolling through resources and portions of the software? I've been considering picking up one to allow for more precise scrolling through some of my programs (especially web browsers and word processors), and I was curious as to if it plays well with Logos.

Thanks!

I picked one up this week. Overall, scrolling is more precise than using a trackpad or mouse wheel. There's a few bugs with it where scrolling doesn't work properly with some apps, including Logos. In Logos, scrolling works when I float any resource panels, but scrolling doesn't work with docked resource panels. Would like to see this corrected in a future Logos update. Scrolling the Logos home page with the Dial is a little jerky as well and could be smoothed out.

I do like the Dial though, and it was a lot of potential, and I like how scrolling is more precise. It's great when doing extensive reading or when working on long papers.

I managed to temporarily get the scrolling issue worked out until Faithlife offers more "official" scrolling support with the Surface Dial. I mapped the Surface Dial to the up and down arrow keys on my keyboard which allows me to scroll up and down through books that are docked.

Another neat time saving trick. I also mapped the Surface Dial to the left and right keys on my keyboard, so I can down use the dial to scroll through commentaries, etc. I even mapped the library floating window keystroke so it so tapping the dial summons the library.

Are there any other good time saving shortcuts I can map to the Surface Dial in Logos?

Thanks!

Thanks, I am very interested in this also.  Are you using the Surface Dial with a Surface Pro 4?

I'm using it with a Surface Book (not the Surface Pro 4), but it'd work with the Surface Pro 4 as well. Only thing that doesn't work with the Surface Book or Surface Pro 4 is on screen support. That only works at the moment on the Surface Studio and the fifth generation Surface Pro. I'm considering a Surface Studio in the future for a second PC.

Overall, for the couple of days I've been working with it, I've enjoyed it. Scrolling is more precise than a mouse wheel, and I like how I can customize the Dial to various keystrokes for simplicity. Only issues with Logos is home page scrolling is a little jerky, and scrolling doesn't work with docked resource panes (it does with floating panes). I managed to map the up/down arrow keys to the Dial while in Logos which provided a workaround for the scrolling issue until that's resolved. I also mapped the left/right arrow keys to the Dial so I can flip between commentaries, etc. I also added the ability to tap the dial to summon the library. I may want to add some additional keystrokes to it as well for time-saving.
