I need some help guys. I have followed the video/tutorial that Joe Miller has posted word for word. I have one problem. I don't have an indexer log. How do I get this?

I am having multiple issues:

1) I purchased EBC 2 weeks ago and I still don't have access to it. I don't even know if I've downloaded yet on to my computer.

2) My indexer likes to index very often.

3) I don't have access to biblical peoples even thought I purchased the upgrade for it.

I'm assuming posting my logs can help with this but I have everything ready outside of the index.log. HELP!

Just hold down the control key from before you start Logos through Logos opening the home page. Then attach all the files in the log directory - don't worry about which is the indexer log.

I always clear the log directory before I restart Logos so I don't have to sort out files by timestamp.

Which Alpha do you have?

CL Pearce:
I have followed the video/tutorial that Joe Miller has posted word for word.

If the Logos4.log is present while Indexer.log is missing, I can only assume that the Logos4Indexer is damaged. You may need to reinstall the latest Alpha.

Does the Indexer run for awhile, or does it appear momentarily and then disappear?

Currently, I have Mac 16. I'll download 16a to see if the indexer.log shows up.

1) Any suggestions why I don't have EBC?

2) Any suggestions why I don't have Biblical peoples?

Thanks for the help.

Did this change anything?

2) Any suggestions why I don't have Biblical peoples?

These two are probably related to the Indexer problem. I'm not expert at this, but no indexer log probably indicates that the Indexer is not functioning. Without the index, I don't believe anything else will work correctly.

Likewise wonder if 16a changes anything ?

If blue icon showing in menu bar, but indexer.log not showing up, wonder about nlog.config file name and contents ?

Also wonder if hovering mouse over blue icon shows any progress messages since indexing can take hours ?

Okay, here are my logs. They are attached. These are from Mac A16a. Again, the issues are:

1) Although I've purchased the EBC, I don't know if I've downloaded or have access to it.

2) Although I've upgraded and downloaded to MacLogos4, I don't have access to biblical peoples.

3) The indexer likes to index for long periods of time.

4) My download indicator likes to 'hang' at 2.02 gigs.

Similar problems have been reported previously, but I cannot find the threads in this forum. I believe the solution—distasteful as it may be—was to rebuild the index. Perhaps Tom or Cameron will reply to this thread today with more authoritative advice.

That would be a very good first step. If you're still having trouble after indexing is finished, post some fresh logs, and we'll take a look at them right away.

Hi, Can you please tell me how to reindex? I'm sure it's easy as running a command in the bar, but just let me know. Thanks!

"rebuild index" should do it.

I rebuilt the index, however I still do not have EBC or access to biblical peoples. I've reposted my logs here. it continues to say that I have a 2.02 gig update.

Thanks for looking into it. I'd love to get these problems resolved in the next 2 weeks. I won't have access to internet for 2 1/2 months then so it would be great to have access to EBC especially during that time.

Wonder about internet connection stability ? Likewise wonder if download completes at different time of day ?

Indexer.log file has: "MacDownloadJob | Could not complete download. The request timed out "

In Logos4.log file noted simultaneous download attempts - all timed out:

It does indeed look like most of your problems are stemming from a failure to complete your downloads. If you have a Logos 4 DVD, I'd suggest putting it in your drive and typing "scan optical media" in the command bar.

If you don't have the disc, I'd recommend ordering it. You can get the disc (which is just the disc with no new licenses) here: http://www.logos.com/products/details/5579.

David, Thank you for your help, however my family and I will be in India until October and do not have access to the Logos 4 CD. Is there any possible way to fix this issue without the cd?

1) I've purchased EBC and it either hasn't downloaded or I don't have access to it.

2) I've upgraded, yet I don't have access to biblical peoples.

3) My download indicator hangs on 2.02 gigs.

My main priority is to get EBC within the week because we will be going to a place that doesn't have internet access. Can you help make this happen?

with you, CL

I don't think I'll be able to do much for you in that timeframe. If you need that kind of stability, the Windows product is your best bet right now.

CL,

I noticed that Biblical People hasn't finished downloading yet, neither has EBC, or several other books:

From your logs:

Anyway, as Keep Smilin' noted, it seems that the internet connection is timing out.

One other thing you could try is deleting the Updates.db and DownloadManager.db and restarting Logos 4. These files are in

/Users/clpearce/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/2tdor696.qvg/UpdateManager/Updates.db and  /Users/clpearce/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/2tdor696.qvg/DownloadManager/DownloadManager.db
