One of my favorite technical grammars on Biblical Hebrew is the one by Joüon-Muraoka. This grammar has an index, but strangely enough only for non-Biblical passages. Also, the Milestone search extension doesn't work for that grammar, which is a very sad situation.

Would it be possible:

- to create an index on Scripture passage in the book myself?

- to add the Milestone search extension feature to this grammar?

Only Faithlife can create milestones for your grammar. So right click a word and see if there is a  Reference label on the RHS of the Context menu (below). Select it if present ---> I'm using A Biblical Hebrew Reference Grammar (BHRG):

Choose a Search and it will be formatted for you e.g. <BHRG = BHRG §11.1.7>; which is a reference search. To search for the milestone in BHRG the format is {Milestone <BHRG = BHRG §11.1.6>}.

You can create your own index in a Personal Book, where you create references like:

[[Matt 3:5 >>  logosres:davdsintroheb;ref=Page.p_8;off=644]]   if the article is on Matt 3:5.

This grammar (Davidson's) only has Page numbers. Use CTRL+ALT+C to get the reference logosres:davdsintroheb;ref=Page.p_8;off=644, then paste it into your Word file and format as above. When compiled your PB will display Matt 3:5 as a link. Click it to open your book.

I hope this helps.

Can you explain why a regular Bible reference search, e.g., <Gen 1:1>, isn't sufficient for your needs in this resource? (I'm not fully understanding the problem you're trying to solve.) Note also that the Grammars section in the Exegetical Guide (on a Bible passage) will list relevant results from A Grammar of Biblical Hebrew.

Well, it is sufficient. I had just recently learned about the Milestones search extension and I had it mixed up with regular references. I now realize that - of course - grammars don't have Bible references as Milestones ...

And thank you for the reminder of the Exegetical Guide, although that sometimes requires some extra steps in the flow of research.

One thing that can speed up that process is to create a custom Exegetical Guide with only the Grammar section(s). Just go to Guides, "Make a new guide template", and add only the Grammars and possibly Grammatical Construction sections. Then save it with the name Grammar or something like that.

Then, when you right click on a passage, the option to open up the grammar sections will appear. Fast and easy. You can also set it up in a linkset if you like with your Bible. As these are lightweight sections, it won't slow down the software hardly at all.

Yes, very strangely!

There isn't the pages 670-719 in the Logos-Version.

But when you have Bibleworks 10 to,

there is! (In the old versions I dont know.)

---> Bibleworks 10, Resources, Hebrew Grammar, Jüon-Muraoka, INDEX OF PASSAGES (pp. 669-719)
