Ok, so I created a collection using the rule as=

mytag: dictionary OR encyclopedia

but it threw in some resources that do not have those as My Tags.  For the life of me, I cannot figure out how.  It gave a couple of resources that have only "journal" as the my tag.  And several others that do not have either "dictionary" or "encyclopedia" in the my tag field.

Why?

Thanks

because your rule says so. I'm not sure whether you actually used a space after mytag: or not (you should never!), but definitely, even if you didn't, the rule translates to "give me those works I tagged as dictionaries (mytag:dictionary) plus everything else (OR) that contains encyclopedia in any library field, including mytag, title, description...

The rule you wanted to write would probably look like this:

mytag:(dictionary, encyclopedia)
