Is anyone familiar with this series, its offered at Amazon (here) the main reason for asking just received the Matthew volume in EGGNT series- not in Logos- the author assigned to Revelation in EGGNT has a volume in this series Bruce Fisk- was hoping someone has some idea as to his approach to eschatology- Premil, Amil, Sawmill.
In the opening he talks about the fact it has nothing to do with the future but it about whom it was written too... but that it can speak to us... and goes on to say
”The reflections that follow are my own, but I look at the book of Revelation through the eyes of others. Chief among these other “eyes” is the work of M. Eugene Boring, whose book in the Interpretation commentary series superbly lays out the broad context of the study of Revelation as well as addresses the purpose of individual passages. Another frequent friend in my mental and spiritual conversation with the book of Revelation is Eugene Peterson, who wrote the book Reversed Thunder: The Revelation of John and the Praying Imagination. Peterson has a wonderful eye and ear for the artistic and poetic function of the book. His perspective disarms many of the literalistic understandings of Revelation that make it so daunting for many readers. Finally, for digging into each verse and uncovering detail after detail, the work of Robert H. Mounce in his commentary The Book of Revelation has been very helpful.”
