Opening a Reading Plan without a Layout?

Is there any way to open a reading plan on Desktop without opening a new layout....so that it just loads the book to be read?

I think you'll find that it only loads the book if you already have resources open - i.e. the "workspace" isn't blank.

Technically, there's always a layout. What is it that you are trying to accomplish? A minimalistic reading experience? If so, then you can create a layout that does just that. For instance, here's one I just created for a reading plan:

Is this what you are looking for? Or did you mean something else?
