David Miller:

If you do download books you may find what I have found that specific items causes Logos 8.0.1 to crash. In my case Stromateis Book One to Three (Catholic University of America). I have tried more than once and it always crashes. I can use 'Reset Workspace' to reset and remove it. I make sure each download functions correctly before attempting another one. I would never have installed Verbum 8 for iOS had I known. Would like to go back to 7.

David, thank you very much for this information, it was most helpful. The crash in Stromateis will be fixed in the release following 8.0.2 (which hopefully will come out today). If there are other specific resources you notice crash the app when downloaded, let me know and I'll make sure the fix works for them as well.

The Ebooks app version 8.0.2 still crashes during startup on my iPhone. Resetting the workspace did not help. :(]

I'm not sure about resource-specific crashes. Using the tool within the app, I reported multiple crashes. I got a prompt response saying that a release was coming which would fix some crashes. I've downloaded the latest version (yesterday), but it crashed again fairly quickly this morning.

iPad Pro 10.5 128GB RAM wifi only, iOS 11.4.1

I can't remember for sure if it's every crash, but the majority (6-7 at this point, 1 since the update) have been when I'm simply reading the downloaded ESV. I touch the right margin to advance a page, and nothing happens. At that point, the app is completely unresponsive. I can use the home button to get back to iOS. When I return to the app, within about 15 seconds it crashes.

Hope that helps,

Donnie

Le me point out again that on the Ebooks app, when I created a test account, I was able to log in and operate without crashing.  I had only the default initial books downloaded which I think is none.  I added starter package to the test account thinking to download a little variety.  All was well.  I downloaded KJV--all was well.

That is as far as I got before my wife wanted her phone and iPad back.  So I reinstalled the apps, logged on in her account so she could try one more time to do her reading in the app.

1. The app loads fine the first time.

2. I can log in.

3. Gears turn, engines hum and all looks well.  Then after a while---CRASH!

4. Subsequent starts make a valiant effort to get up and running but inevitably never clear the runway. Crash.

This behavior is the same for an iPad mini, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus.

GaoLu, sorry for the inconvenience. Have you tried installing the 8.0.2 version of the eBooks app which was released to the AppStore today?

Sorry, it looks like my previous update attempt from the App Store did not complete so I still had the old version. I now tried the update again and now Ebooks works for me.

Many thanks, Logos!

Now that the Faithlife eBooks app is working fine, it’s started to do the same thing on my Faithlife Study Bible app. I’ve reset workspace and reinstalled the app more than once.

The latest update has seemed to make things worse for me. My app has crashes 6x in the past 15 minutes with numerous blank pages and half loaded books. All these resources are downloaded

The iOS Verbum is mostly functionsl but has there problems not present in the pre-8 version:

  1. Crashing on opening large works and needs “Workspace Reset” to make app useable again.
  2. Sometimes books load as blank pages, requiring terminating and relaunching the app
  3. Sometimes the book repeats the same page over and over, requiring relaunching the app.

these are all with downloaded books.

I‘m using a Mini 4 with 128gb storage and have about 50gb free.

Retina MacBook Pro. i5 2.6ghz 8gb RAM, 512mb SSD (Late 2013). macOS 10.14. iPad Mini 4–128gb

Verbum 8 Silver, Orthodox 8 Bronze. Starter sets: Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal, Reformed, SDA, Standard

You and I have the same device though I have more free space... Mini problem?

Well, it worked fine before the update to version 8. So it may be that the updated app doesn’t play nicely with the Mini 4 hardware.

as for free space, I’m also carrying 40gb of mp3.

I agree with you there... I wish I could revert back. Resetting workspace is becoming tiresome and my battery is draining from the constant force close and restarts

Verbum 8.0.2 is more stable but there are still problems.

Stromateis still crashes after download. Anti-Nicene Fathers 2, 4, 6 & 7 also crash immediately after download.  All require a workspace reset and removal.

David,

i can confirm this when the resource is downloaded.  But if not downloaded the app does not crash.

It's not just a mini problem. I have iPad Air and have identical problems

We have a fix in the pipeline for downloaded resources (like Stromateis, etc) crashing the app and requiring a workspace reset. That will be in 8.0.3 which we hope to ship to Apple as early as today.

We are still investigating the issues with blank pages.
