Does anyone know if the notes have been updated yet?  I keep getting updates about how to use notes from Logos.  The class is "Learn how to use notes with Morris Proctor."  This takes place on Jan 29 for $19.99 and I will only have access for one month. I have tried to use this L8 Notes program.  I finally gave up and stated using other programs.  Has anyone else found a useful "note taking" for Sermon Prep, Bible Study, and etc.?

They are continually being updated - with changes in the 8.1 and 8.2 releases.

What updates are you interested in / waiting for?

What particular issues did you encounter? I ask before some users are finding real issues that impact how they do things, others - when they see the different way the new Notes Tool works - find it does what they need and does it well

I use Logos Notes for this and find it totally sufficient for my needs.

Graham, thanks for your response.  I have started using One Note, because I am a first time user to the notes in L8.  I watched the videos and called Logos to see if there was additional tutorials, but was directed to what I had already seen.  I think many people want the note books themselves because they remember which notebook they stored it in.  Not sure why we cannot have both the notebooks and the tagging system.  L8 notes is not easy to use, and from many of the posts here in the forums, I do not think I am alone.  I am currently preaching from Matthew and then will move to Psalms next month.  Also, I have other studies that I work on throughout the week.  I prefer Notebooks for each.

The Notes Tool already has Notebooks in addition to tags, what are you referring to?

With the notes tool you can have both. Notebooks can be selected from the facet panel

You can create a notebook for Psalms and Matthew, and select only that notebook. In the screen shot I quickly created a notebook for each. If there were notes assigned to either notebook, then those notes would appear when the notebook is selected

Just to point out that you are only cluttering your Notes Tool by creating notebooks for Bible Books specifically as the notes are already filtered by Bible book. The only reason to create that type of notebook is if you wanted a certain subset of notes from the book to be separated. Example for the book of Matthew you may want to create a notebook called "Matthew Preaching Series" or something like that which would only hold your sermon prep notes as opposed to all notes for the book of Matthew.

I agree David. I have a minimal number of notebooks because most of my notes are related to bible passages that are already filtered. Even when I use a workflow for sermon prep, I usually delete that notebook when the sermon is completed. If I make a not in my bible that I want to keep beyond the sermon prep, I do not normally assign it to a notebook.

Just to add another example - from a preaching series in did for Advent last year

As you can see - for Advent 2018 - I created four different notes, one for each sermon - and placed them all in the same notebook
