Dave Hooton:

Simple. Anything on the list would be segregated out and not shown under the main results.

What list? How will it be made? Remember that Prioritization doesn't affect  Search results.

Forget “prioritization.” This would be a new feature and you csn call it whatever you want. It would work in searches and guides.

Dave's question shows why I use collections. Perhaps, the question re: searches is "what would de-prioritization provide that collections don't -- and is that worth the time necessary to implement the change.?"

Sometimes I know what I want. Sometimes I know what I don’t want. Collections allow you to search through things you know you want. What I want is an elegant way to always (unless otherwise specified) restrict certain resources that I don’t want from appearing in any search or guide.

Collections could probably do this, but not elegantly.
