The Shinkaiyaku Japanese Bible is a Pre-Pub for a Bible translation that has since been replaced by a new edition. Its chances of making it into production will go up if this edition is replaced by the newer edition.
Perhaps a Japanese product description could be added as well.
"The saints are the true interpreters of Holy Scripture. The meaning of a given passage of the Bible becomes most intelligible in those human beings who have been totally transfixed by it and have lived it out." - Pope Benedict XVI
Hi SineNomine,
We actually already have the 2017 version on our list and hope to update this page in the coming weeks/months.
I agree with the language specific product description and will see what we can make happen here.

I am honestly surprised that you give a timeline longer than "today or tomorrow," based on previous interactions with other FL employees on the forums.

This is simply related to this not just being dependent on us, but also the rights holder (so this isn't fully under our control), so I'd rather give a realistic estimate than just throwing a date out there.

So what you mean is that it's on your list of things to acquire, not the list of things you have a license for. Now I get it.
