Bug: 4.0b Beta 2: Crash when clicking on URL in footnote

Do a basic search for http.

Find one of the occurrences that is in a footnote and click on the highlighted footnote marker in the search results to open that resource to that location.

Click on the footnote marker to bring up the persistent footnote popup.

Click on the URL link in the footnote.

Logos crashes. Reproducible every time, no matter which link I choose. This crash does not occur if I click on a URL that is in the surface text of a resource.

This was an error in attempting to read or write protected memory. I'm not able to reproduce, but I should probably test it using the same default browser as you. I'm using IE 8.

I'm using IE 8 too. The funny thing is, after Logos crashes, the web page it was trying to go to is left open in the browser, so it did manage to launch it.

I'm running on 64-bit Vista if that makes any difference.

And I'm just now downloading 4.0b Beta 3, so I can try it again with that and see if the problem went away.

Oh good! I don't mean to be gleeful at your woes. But I'm glad it's not something wrong with my machine (that bit about "This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt" had me worried there for a while). Hopefully the Logos folks will be able to reproduce it in-house on one of their installations.

I added my "me too" as I think its useful if its known that a given bug or crash happens with other flavours of Windows, IE, Logos4 Release or Beta etc ...

Not sure we every need more than a very few examples of "crashes for me too" or "works fine for me", but an extra example can be useful to the devs I expect.
