From 1 to 5 words selected, the Lookup action is shown in the Selection menu.

A one word selection can produce results in dictionaries via word Lookup, usually, but can produce an empty  (no results) Power Lookup.

For phrases, results are less predictable:

     Phrase                            Bible                                          Non-bible

grace and mercy          Power Lookup --> empty                 Power Lookup --> empty

grace may abound        Power Lookup --> empty                 Power Lookup --> empty

grace of God                Word Lookup (grace)                      Word Lookup (grace

Jesus died                  Power Lookup --> empty                  Power Lookup --> empty

Jesus Christ               Word Lookup (Jesus Christ)              Word Lookup (Jesus Christ)

However, a consistently empty Power Lookup is not a desirable result.

"grace of God" turns out to be a (LCV) topic equivalent to Grace, but it doesn't list Dictionaries (and Guides) in the Context menu; unlike Grace. Will this inconsistency remain?

"Jesus Christ" is equivalent to "Jesus", so one may get results for Jesus in Bible Dictionaries, depending on their priority. But the Context menu only lists dictionaries and guides for Jesus.

1. There are many phrasal nouns which can be looked up directly as a headword.
e.g., "love of God," "kingdom of God," "holy people," "Holy Spirit," "Sea of Galilee," etc.

2. There are other phrases that have an LCV equivalent or alias, like those you mention. "Jesus Christ" etc.

Parsing phrases for Look up via the Context Menu would be new work that we will consider for the near future, but not for this version.

3. There are many more arbitrary phrases that cannot be resolved by Look up, and the current fall back behavior is to open Power Lookup—which, yes, is consistently empty.

We agree this is a problem, and we think falling back to Everything search would be a better experience in this scenario. There's quite a bit of feedback for Selection Menu to tackle, but I'm hoping we can address this soon.
