Soon purchasing a new desk top computer. What are the best options. Have memory now of 6, would something like 12 or 16 help? What would forum members recommend for processor. Is Windows 10 okay? Please advise?

Windows 10 works fine. Since you asked about optimum (not minimum) get maximum you can afford:
Windows 10 is fine and you have no choice for Logos unless you get a Mac.
Memory: 16GB of RAM or greater.
Hard drive: SSD drive (minimum 512 GB) This is a must. Do not get a spinning hard drive unless it's as a secondary data drive. You want Windows and Logos on your SSD. These drives have fallen considerably in price this year so rejoice.
Processor: Any desktop Intel 8th or 9th gen i5 or i7 would work. AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or above (Ryzen 7, 9) would be fine.
Video: Logos can run on Intel integrated video but if you're getting a card go for Nvidia 1050 or above. If you can't afford it just get a higher end Intel chip with built in graphics and you'll be fine. You'll want a 1080p monitor or better. I have a 1080 27" BenQ with "lowBlueLight" and it's decent.
Faster PCIe and NVMe SSD are notably faster than older SATA III. Amazon Best Sellers for internal SSD => https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/electronics/1292116011 includes NVMe PCIe 1 TB for $ 169.99 and 1 TB SATA III for $ 99.99 (different hardware connectors). Personally would spend $ 70 for the faster NVMe PCIe SSD with 1 TB capacity (since transfer speeds are 3+ times faster).
GeekBench has Processor benchmarks => https://browser.geekbench.com/processor-benchmarks that shows an Intel i3-7350K (7th Generation) being a bit quicker than the fastest AMD Ryzen 5 3600X. For processor speed, differences of less than 10 % are typically not noticeable by humans so my preference is fastest benchmark per money spent.
Geekbench also has Mac Benchmarks => https://browser.geekbench.com/mac-benchmarks
Tom's Hardware => https://www.tomshardware.com/ includes Best Picks for various hardware categories along with recent reviews.
Logos & Verbum applications benefit from gaming hardware.

That's in single core performance and I'd rather take a 6 core 12 thread Ryzen over a 2 core 4 thread i3 any day. That said the i3 should be sufficient for Logos but if you're running other programs at the same time you'll appreciate more threads.
I have a SATA III SSD on my laptop and it's just fine for Logos. It will depend on how much money OP wants to spend.
To use many threads effectively, needs faster SSD (otherwise thread waits for stuff to go to/from storage).
Likewise using SATA III SSD's (on 5+ year old computer hardware).
