In a General post someone was asking for help in searching just the Words of Jesus and Rosie made this helpful suggestion:

Rosie Perera:
Yup. Use this syntax, e.g., to search for all places were Jesus uses the word "life":

words-of-christ:life

(no spaces before and after the colon)

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work on L4Mac yet, as I tried it! Sad

Here's my screenshot.

Anyone else tried this?

Alan,

Actually, it's not working on the PC side either!

We either have the wrong search going (no dashes or something) or it's broken at the moment.

Robert,

Your response made me think. Tongue Tied Tried again and it does work, but only for Bibles which have the Words of Christ in red. The clue is in the Wiki page:

words-of-christ

Text considered to be the Words of Christ, traditionally the “red-letter” text.

Here is the search run using the NIV (not Anglicised)

I can live with that solution. Just realise that some text features don't work with NIV - Anglicised, eg. interlinear.

Alan,

Well now...that's weird...it works for me too now!

The ESV is searchable with this term...I could SWEAR that it wasn't on my last post!

It would appear that we have a two-tier Bible system. There are those which are fully functional as per this screenshot

and those which are only partly functional, and so don't show up on the grid, like the NIV - Anglicised. Mm. Confused

Some have it and some don't, depending on the print version. The available Search Fields can be seen in Resource Information (in the PC version!):-

Thanks, Dave. I guessed it was something like that with regard to the Words of Christ, but why no interlinear with some English versions? That can't just be a "print edition" thing. It must be that some versions just haven't been tagged for it. And I am guessing that the NIV - Anglicised, which is both my default Bible and my oldest Logos resource that goes way back to Logos 1.6, has not been tagged (and I'm guessing – not complaining – that it never will be).

The interlinear choice belongs to Logos, presumably with the permission of the publishers  eg. the ESV NT and OT in Libronix + the NRSV NT. But the "red letter" words of Christ tagging does relate to the print edition. At least 17 of my 32 English bibles are "red letter" but only 9 are interlinear.
