Hi,
I’ve uploaded some personal books to Logos and would like to remove them.
When I open the PB tool and right click on the books the word delete i greyed out and has no effect.
Is there not a way to remove them?
Tony.
Yes Anthony there is not a way to remove them.
As I understand it the best solution is to overwrite them with a blank book or a book containing some drivel.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply.
Actually there is a delete button and that worked for most that I wanted to delete (about 12 books). It’s just that I am left with three or four that for some reason won’t delete.
if you open the PB tool and right click on a book the delete option is there. But on just these few it is greyed out!
For clarification: Did you upload these resources? The metadata (author, title, etc.) automatically syncs, but the compiled book has to be manually uploaded.
Are you trying to delete the PBB project, or the compiled book?
Knowing these things may shed some light.
Hi JT,
Once again you come to my aid and make me focus my mind. I was trying to remove them from my computer and suddenly realised that I had uploaded them to Logos. I went into the library and removed them from this device and was then able to delete them.
However, it now leaves all the PBs in my library listing and I don't want them. I have not got them downloaded to any devices but cannot find a way to delete them from my library.
Only current fix is to overwrite them with a name of, perhaps, Dummyxxx. and use the same docx file that just has the words "not a valid book at this time". Where xxx will be the number of the old PBB that you 'covered up'. Then when you create a new PBB use one of the Dummyxxx ones with a 'real' name and a 'real' file. Per talks with Logos staff the Megadata gets overwritten each time you compile a PBB so that is not a problem.

At this point you will need to "hide" them. The other option, as David mentioned, is to essentially overwrite them with a different book.
Thank you David & JT. I've hidden these books now - out of sight, out of mind - as they say.
Well that was an interesting little exercise. Trying to organise my library, hope I don't come across anymore problems.
