Bummer, *none* of the 41 books I've reported typos in were updated in this latest 2GB update.

I've been waiting patiently, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting. Not that these typos are interfering in my work, but I still like to see that what I've reported gets addressed or the incentive to keep reporting them is somewhat diminished.

Rosie,

if it makes you feel better...I've reported the bad "y   o   u" problem in the Baker NT series for a year or two and no dice...

  Sad

Robert, I'm working from memory here, but I'm almost positive that the 'y o u' spacing is a convention designed to show when a 'you' was plural in the Greek, since in English you don't differentiate you (singular) from you (plural) unless y'all are from the South. So really, it's not a bug; it's a feature.

Vincent, that seems to be the case....I check a few references both singular and plural and darned if you're not right!

Thanks very much for clearing this up... Embarrassed

From the front of the Baker NT Commentary:

Please Note

In order to differentiate between the second person singular (see Eph. 6:2, 3) and the second person plural (see Eph. 2:1; 6:1), we have indicated the former as follows: “you,” “your”; and the latter as follows: “y o u,” “y o u r.”

William Hendriksen and Simon J. Kistemaker, vol. 7, New Testament Commentary : Exposition of Ephesians, New Testament Commentary (Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1953-2001), x.

It pays to read the front of the book....Embarrassed

Robert Pavich:

Rosie,

if it makes you feel better...

Thanks. It might have, but now I realize there's no way for them to report back "that's by design" with the "Report Typo" feature. Oh well.

The other thing that's kind of sobering is that this latest resource update was 2GB, and that was just for a little over 50 resources out of the 15,000 or so in their catalogue. Just think if they actually did fix all the outstanding typos in all their resources and dumped them all on us at once. We'd be downloading for weeks! So I guess we have to be content waiting until groups of resources get updated every couple of months (if they do it more often the people with limited bandwidth would squawk very loudly), and maybe one day the typos I've reported will get fixed.
