Bug: Logos 4.0d Footnotes missing superscripted footnote number

I've noticed this since I updated to 4.0d. It worked as expected in 4.0c. When I copy a section of a book and paste it into Microsoft Office Word 2003, the text in the body gets tagged with a superscripted footnote number, but in the footnote text at the bottom of the page, there is no superscipted number at the beginning of the footnote.
As a sanity check, I cut and pasted the same information from Logos 3 into the same Word document and it still works just fine.

Yes, this appears to be a new bug. I can confirm it in 4.0d RC1 (which is essentially identical to 4.0d). I don't remember ever seeing it before. Could you edit your post, and add "Bug: " before the subject line ASAP (you've only got a few hours since posting that the post is still editable) so that it's more likely to be noticed by the Logos folks skimming the forums. Thanks.
To edit your post, click the More button beside it and select Edit, make the changes, and then click Post. If you don't see Edit on that dropdown menu, then you've missed the window of opportunity.

Done. Thanks for the confirmation of the problem and the advice about "Bug." [:)]

Actually, what I notice is this. With previous versions, if selected/copied text had existing footnotes within the copied section (and the protram setting "copy footnotes" is set to true), those would come out with "double" subscripts (the numbers being the same as they were in the orginal text). Then the overall copy/citation would get a footnote with "new" numbers (starting at 1 for the Word document). Now, the embedded footnotes only have the "single" number that matches the number from the original text, but the overall selection does not get a number at all.
What would be good would be that the embedded footnotes would still only have the one number (from the original text/subscript), as it is now behaving, but that the overall footnote for the selected text would get subscripted as before. If that's possible.

This has been reported to development. Thanks.

Thanks, Melissa. I thought it was a problem with Word, and have scoured the web looking for solutions. For certain personality types, this kind of "error" is a PROBLEM! Now I can sleep in peace.

BTW, I never though of checking the Logos forums. I actually found this post with a general Google search.

Good to see that the Logos forums are coming up high in the Google search hits.
BTW, did you know that many of us use Google to search for posts in the forums, since it's better than the forum search feature? I wrote something up about this recently on the wiki: http://wiki.logos.com/Using_the_Forum#Searching_for_posts

Thanks, Rosie. Will give it a try next time. Looking forward to Camp Logos in Houston, TX next month.

There is something interesting about this problem that I just discovered today. I have a brother that lives in Oregon and was here visiting. He like the lessons I was doing on the five solas and asked me to email them to him. I write the lessons in Word but he only has Works. As a result, I wrote a lesson for him in Works and the footnote numbersa appeared just fine! Go figure, perhaps that's why it is called "Works." [;)]

Version 4.1 will be released to non-beta testers in a week or so. If you want to 'beta test' 4.1 you can download it from this link: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/InstallerBeta/Logos4Setup.exe
4.1 is not officially supported until it's official release however, so if you get into any difficulty Logos technical support won't be able to help you until then.

I have a similar problem. When I try to print a footnoted (Galaxie) journal article, the footnotes simply don't show up. Is there an option I need to set to get them to appear?

David, this question came up recently in another thread, and I answered it there on Friday. Hope this helps: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/32983.aspx

OK, thanks. The work-around works great. Is Logos working on a fix to the Print/Export problem?
